I was looking for some FFF and I live in Canada so I got in contact with dcsoke and we got a arrangement on 12 beers I send mine he send his . He received is box with 2 bottles broken and I apologize for it and tell him that I will resend those bottle when winter will be gone! But the problem here is that is box got flag at the border because he didn't write the right form for the border and I never received any bottles. So I told him that I can find a American address for him to send back but he refuse because 2 bottles broke in the box I ship him. That is not a reason for not shipping back he got his beer and I got a 100$ bill for nothing. I'm very piss what can I do now?
It's not that difficult, really. But you do have to fill out a customs form and declare a specific product group, specific value and pack the FUCK out of th box...cuz the last thing you want is a broken bottle going through customs. I'll walk you through the process if you'd like, just send me a message.
Did his bottles get returned to him? Or lost/confiscated? Either way, he owes you a box and I would think the US address would help. From what I understand, proper paperwork is a known risk with international trades, and he is at fault if not filed correctly. He should honor the trade, or worst case scenario send your beer back to the US address you offered so at a minimum you are out money (albeit, a lot). This sucks, sorry man.
He had to clean up two broken bottles you sent him. You should send him another box for his troubles.
You owe him the two broken bottles, he owes you the box agreed on. Providing him with a US address is going above and beyond if this was agreed to be an international trade. This dick needs to go on the bad trader list. On a side note, if you have a US address available to you, it's so much better to use that and send within the US if at all possible.
It is really not complicated he just write that a 20 pound of collectible glassware worth 1$ who will pay 50$ in shipping for something that worth 1$ I got a lot of us trade done and it's the first time someone do that
Sounds to me that it is a cluster *uck all around. You both owe each other beer. I suspect he could have posted this same thread against you. BTW- Sentence structure is important.
Y'all both need to work this one out amicably or we're staring at the first ever double bad trader scenario.
I believe this is what is called a sword fight. It make sense to, they both owe beer so now they get to duel to see who sends first.
I already propose to him to resend the broken bottles and to add some extra for the problem it occur. But he didn't want to send back his bottle so I won't give him more bottle for nothing. Understood? I have not a bad trader!
I was half-joking... I think he's more in the wrong than you are, but this is a really weird "bad trader" situation. Quite frankly, I don't even know what protocol really is when customs comes into play. Hence, it's probably for the best if you guys just work it out together.
He did get 10 beers from the guy..He really should re-send...The OP should not really be screwed because the the other guy had no clue how to send the beer international....Its not his fault and he gets zero out of the deal?
Not sure where people are seeing equal fault. One guy ships and 2 bottles break, is willing re-ship. Other guy gets entire package taken by customs because he's too lazy to learn how to ship international, so he says "let's call it even?". WTF! The absolute least he can do is just send back the bottles that didn't break to the US shipping address.
Was exactly how I felt, but im not sure if im missing something...Would be nice if the other guy came here and explained himself..
If you offered to replace the broken bottles with a bonus for the troubles then clearly you were open to discussion. The major problem here is packaging! and filling out childish paper work. Shipping to Quebec is a joke. I agree that shipping a box (costing about 75$ ?) and getting it confiscated is a bitch but it's part of the deal when shipping. The OP even offered a U.S address to make sure it doesn't happen again. Meaning he would have to drive out cross the border and come back with the beer while paying 20% taxes on all the bottles. Sounds like a fair compromise.
Did you point out this thread to him? I ask because he was just on-line, & it always seems weird that people accused of being bad traders don't come in & give their side of the story (if there is one). When the other side avoids a bad trader thread while continuing to use the site, it makes them look guilty. And yes, the guy should certainly re-send the box, or hit the bad traders list.
Little update on this. I was in a conversation with this (bad trader) and finally convinced him to ship a 6 pack. (was originally 12 bottles plus extras) It's better than nothing right? Then he said that, the specific 6pack wasn't on the shelf but that he was going to the DL day and that he could pick it up. Next thing I know is that is BA account is closed and no sign of life. fail...
Wow. What a POS. He's still going on the bar trader list, right? Also, does BA track IP's in case of duplicate accounts?
I don't think BA does. I wouldn't be surprised if he had his own account closed to open up a new one. I will still be adding him just so that I have his info if ever that name comes up.
Gotcha. Many of the car forums I used to frequent tracked IP's to prevent users from re-offending with new accounts. It's not that you are unable to make another account from the same IP, but if an account is banned/deleted and another account from the same IP pop's up again, then the forum can take action. Of course, these were people that would scam people out of hundreds if not thousands of dollars. I think it's something BA should look into. Is their a suggestion box? lol
Originally a mixed 12 or random beers from FFF. Later on just to be safe and at least get something, he settled on a 6pack of robert the bruce.
I'm in Colorado but if someone puts a box together for this guy let me know and I will send some Crooked Stave, Avery, and Funkwerks.
Cool. I'm going to invite anyone that wants to ship stuff to a private BM so we can get his US address, because I've never shipped internationally.
