Saw some at Specs Midtown today. 20 something a bottle. Couldn't get more than 1 too much..

Anybody seen this/know of any in West Austin (Bee Caves area)??

I pulled the trigger on a couple of bottles (one to drink/review now, one to age). $20 is steep, but as much as I like regular Rasputin, I have to imagine this is going to be pretty great. Plus, no Abyss-like hype!

    And only $8-$10 more!

Honestly, I'd pay $8-10 more per bottle to eschew the bullshit hypetrains around most big releases these days. Hell, I probably end up paying that in gas driving all over Houston, anyway.

Did you try Specs in Bee Caves...? If they don't have it out there I don't know who would. You might swing by the HEB, you never know.

Was just at the 4 Points HEB over lunch and they didn't have it. At least not on the shelves. Couldn't find anyone to talk to.

In other news, that HEB had Funk Metal and Rince Cochon 750mL (Belgian Strong Pale, 8.5%) on clearance for $5.99. There's a whole cart load of it. Here's the BA review: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/675/65096

For some reason the HEB on S Congress/Oltorf also had like 4 cases of Rince Cochon for $5.99... I found that very strange :)

Someone at HEB is very susceptible to Favorite Brands sales pitches. "Pig Rinse" this year, last year it was Gavrouche ( which is actually a decent Bier de Garde). Seems they buy a container load at a time and are then forced to discount it when the bubbas that shop there don't buy the fancy foriegn beer.

I picked up a bottle. Couldn't resist that price for corked and caged brewed in Belgium beer. We'll see.

This is the truth. I remember when it came in @ 9.99 per bottle. I spoke to one of the beer/wine managers and she was disgusted that so much was placed on her shelves. @ 5/bottle it wasn't too bad though ;)

As far as the Barrel Rasputin, picked up a few. for 500ml, the price point is out there but I'm hoping for the best. I think Abyss is 650ml? so there's even more of a price difference taking that into account.

I've tried Rince Cochon. It's decent but nothing to write home about. Good deal for 6 bucks though. Try it with rack of spare ribs.

BA Old Raspy should be rolling out in full force today. I expect most locations that haven't received it already will receive it today from BEK. E1G, Live Oak, etc...

Central Market on Westheimer has a few bottles left. You have to ask for it, they have it hidden.

Man, you would have to have some cash flow to want to buy more than 2 bottles at one time.... lol.

Specs DeZavala in SA had a lot on the shelf. No apparent limits other your wallet being willing to cough up $22 per.
