Troegs is saying they made more this year and that it was released today in central PA! Seems much earlier than last year, a welcome surprise.

Wholesalers ultimately decide release dates, and the brewery cannot control the exact release. Also, please note that it can take a week to get beer into all wholesalers in any given market.

This is crazy! It is supposed to be a Feb. beer. With all the good January releases, drinking this fresh may be an issue.

Actually, I'm relieved to see a 2/4/13 street date for NYS. I have too much other beer now and I need to drink it before the NN arrives.

This is freaking fantastic news! And as someone who lives in the Philly area, I can't wait to get my hands on some. It has been far too long since I've had some of that glorious Nectar. And it seems to me that earlier and earlier releases for beers are becoming the norm now...I mean, we had pumpkin beers coming out in August, for Pete's sake!

Is this stuff typically hard to find once it's released? I may make the 50 minute drive to Toledo to pick some up, but not if it most likely won't be on shelves once it comes out...

Just got back from grabbing a case at the Troegs Brewery! No pounders available yet. It will be on draft during the first two weeks of February.

I'm not sure about you guys... but I'll be enjoying a couple of these tonight!

No problem getting plenty in Toledo. I usually get a couple cases every year.

Meh. I'll probably pass. I heard it's not as hoppy as last year's.

No, last year's was awful. This year's has to be better.

There was some variation between the batches that came out, but for the most part it was great. I had bought at least 8-10 six packs.

Sorry, it was sarcasm. I just remember all the threads last year about how terrible it was, underhopped or whatever. I thought it was great and drank through a sixtel myself. I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival in Upstate NY, it is one of my favorite seasonals.

 works for me. I moved to the city and the small store I go to has at least 2-3 offerings of troegs...I have been picking up perpetual since I moved, so hopefully they have NN. I will have to ask when I go pick up sucks this week.

Seems kind of silly that it will take a month to get NN an hour down I-83 to Baltimore County. Looks like I may be driving north.

I was surprised at last years initial batch -- lots of biscuit malt, not a hop bomb by any means. I wanted a little more aggressive hopping, but it was still nice.

Anyone tried this year's yet? I will open at least one tonight.

Not silly at all. The rollout dates are staggered because they are getting fresh product to each market as it is brewed, finished and packaged. There isn't just one batch of NN, so the further markets have to wait, as the home markets get preferential treatment.

I hope I'll be able to find this in Massachusetts because Rhode Island doesn't get Troegs. Anyone know how the availability in Mass usually is?

It was easy enough to get in Boston last year.

And I don't expend much effort getting beer -- I don't trade or travel for beer -- so when I say easy I mean mainstream easy rather than beer-trader easy.
