    OMG.

    OMG.

    I loved the 2012 but I just had my 1st 2011. Kaboom.

Over the Summer I scored a whole case of it for $ 20 at Southown Beverages in Rochester NY.

I now wish I had bought all 6 cases that were there.

Had one of my '11's of this the other night, drinking fantastic, tastes exactly how a holiday beer should!

The 2011 edition was all supposed to be taken out out the marketplace due to premature oxidation. (I sell Goose Island). However.....even though it has a TON floating around in it, I "own" 3 cases and think it is PHENOMENAL! I've had or given away almost a whole case this year alone. Worth trying to find some because most was destroyed.

I'm not trolling, but do you have a source for this? Just curious as I've never heard that before.

Aside from that, this is an utterly fantastic beer that seemed to fly under the radar. The second to last one I had Christmas Eve confirmed for me it's still aging well and that I'll miss it when it's gone.

My Goose Island regional rep in Ohio had us pick it all up in marketplace and they(G.I.) bought it all and had us pour it all down the drain.....I rescued 3 cases from being destroyed.

Sorry.....posted this in your reply.......I totally agree with you as I have had at least 2-4 packs during Holidays to date. I think it tastes fantastic. But you have to admit that there is a lot floating around in it. It has been like that since 2011.

Last time I checked Southtown Beverages in Rochester NY had several cases of 2011 (&2012). I wonder how many more years the 2011 will be drinkable?

Gotcha. It seems to me there was a lot of bottle variation as some I've had over the years had no floaties, while others had a lot. Never had one that tasted bad or off, though, so maybe it was a cosmetic concern? The opacity and sludginess of some bottles added to my enjoyment!

If you trust the text on the label it's supposed to develop for up to five years. That may just be marketing but the fact that a brown ale still tastes this good two years on leads me to believe it. All I know is if I saw a case for $20 I wouldn't think twice.

Like I said.....I think it tastes PHENOMENAL. I bet I have the last cases in NE Ohio.

Well now i'm excited that I still have a few bottles of 2011. Though i just opened a 2012 the other night and it definitely tasted a little odd...maybe just at an awkward point in the aging process, but it was a little tart.

I actually just opened my second to last bottle of the 2011 on Christmas and it was absolutely delicious! Hopefully the last one is even better in a year or two!

I am enjoying the hell out of a bottle of 2011 right now and thinking; this is the best brown ale I have ever had but nothing about this beer reminds me of Christmas. I could drink this all Winter long.
