Just opened a 10 year old great divide chocolate yeti that was given to me along with a bunch of other stuff and have say was not expecting it to be this good I figured it would have faded heavily by now

Flavor is still smooth with chocolate, very little alcohol taste
Mouthfeel is medium not too thin but thickens as it warms up
Still has the perfect carbonation IMO just a delicious beer all around!

This is all that was given to me from a cousin in Texas

Kudos to GD for providing clear bottle dating 10 years ago. Or perhaps prior to 2005...? I don't recall.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. Good to hear when these beers are reported to hold up with extended aging.

Any idea what years those old guardians are?

I didn't think it would last that long either. Glad you got to enjoy it!

I love hops, but I hate the hops in Yeti beers.

I have one of these I'm keeping for a while. Thanks for giving me hope!

Opened a barrel aged YETI a few weeks ago - completely sour! Was disappointing for anyone keen on having a delicious barrel-aged stout...but the resulting beer wasn't bad...just not as expected.

That beer didn't come out until 2009, I specifically remember going to buy one at the taproom. Also, the reviews on this site don't start until 2009. HIghly unlikely there were bottles floating around for four years before being added here.

Good call. Looks like a dot missing from the 9 right in line with dots missing from the 0's, so Jul 16 2009.

They had an infection problem ... I think LAST year. Please contact Great Divide, I am sure they will make it right.

Hah, this one is a number of YEARS old...not last year (they didn't make that beer for a while). I'm good with Great Divide.

Yeah, definitely not from before 2009, since that's also around when Great Divide did the redesigns of their labels:

the Yeti labels 2008 and prior were much different:

Glad I'm not crazy. I remember being at the launch event for that beer and it certainly wasn't a decade ago.

The dot did look like 2005 it must have faded and I have not done the proper research thanks guys! Still very impressive though

The stone old guardians are 2007/2008

Read the bottle date and previous responses definitely not a 2015
