It's Porters for me. Not a big stout person, but sometimes if they are smooth enough I'll give em a try. My local brewery makes one with local coffee that isn't too bad.

I have to second this. I enjoy pretty much all styles, unless it has a smoked characteristic... or incredibly earthy notes. I love good scotch and smoked meats, but not smoked beers.

Haven't had a whole style that I can't drink. Some stronger rauchbiers would be the closest. Scotch Ales, American Brown Ales, English Milds, ESBs, Irish Red Ales, and similar beers tend not to be my favorites but they aren't intolerable to me.

I guess it would have to be Gruit beers for me

Most farmhouse beers disagree with me. I find one I can choke down on occasion.

I'm probably the minority here, but I can't get into barrel aged beers.... Any of them!

Given them enough of a try, but any Wheat Beer I drink tastes like I'm eating plain bread. Noooot Happening...

I just can't get into barleywines. To me they are undrinkable.

I agree with the OP. Sours, flanders and farmhouse ales just taste way too acidic and vile to me. Guess my pallate isn't that evolved yet

Doesn't bother me, as I think they're trying to strike a conversational tone.

However, the (mis)uses of drink/drank/drunk on BA make me want to punch my fist through my laptop screen.

Most wheat beers. From traditional Heffes to US brewed lawn-mower ales, I just can't get into em. Its not that I don't like easy drinking beers, I just really dont jive with the flavors that wheat imparts. I don't really get any bubblegum, banana, clove, or any of the other crazy notes from the Heffes that so many people make sound so delicious, which is unfortunate :slight_frown:. Guess they are just not for me. If I want something sessionable on a hot day, I would so much rather have a nice Helles lager or a nice pale ale than any wheat beer.

But DAMN do I love Lil Sumpin Sumpin.........

Gonna also go with smoked beers.. I haven't had many because even consistent breweries I like couldn't do it for me.. Namely the Smoked Old Guardian caused me to give up.

TBK's smoked marzan was the worst beer I've ever had. I didn't care for Stone's Oaked Smoked Old Guardian, either. Smoke is not a flavor profile in beers that I get into, I guess.

I try to be as objective as possible and take the stylistic points into account whenever I'm rating. That said, overuse of pilsner malts in any style will often make me reach for something different.

I have yet to find a sour beer I enjoy.
