Waiting 4-5 hours and getting beer is definitely better than waiting for 3, getting nothing then complaining about it. AmIright?

I tried adding 1000 bottles for some of the available beers.

Bois rye/brandy auto decrease to 112 bottles
    Bois 101-125
    Bois NAO 100-150
    M#3 limits to 955
Smoking wood BBA limits to 215

For some other beers it gives an error message and resets to the original amount, but if you are near some value it auto adjust.

If the change in inventory numbers are true, they did quite well last night. Though I do suspect that the initial sales could have been lower than expected since there are four bois variants to buy.

Wow, somebody call a wambulance. I could see whining if you weren't able to buy your stated allotment, but that's not the case here. These were EXTRAS. The bruery made no promise everyone would get extras, so why complain?

Re the citra release, going to go out on a limb here and surmise that heatwaves was the dude wearing a black t-shirt and Ben hogan style hat whining and complaining to Eric and Kyle at the release. Just a hunch. I missed out as well, and also spent several hours in line. Drank my fill of citra on tap and left with a case each of JO and winter ale. Nobody was guaranteed citra bottles just because you drove a long distance and waited in line. Not saying there isn't a better way to have done it, but it is what it is.

They can eat their wamburger and French cries while waiting next time.

I have only maxed out on two or three allocations in my years as a Society member - I only bought one additional CR on top of the two that came with my package. Somehow, here I am a Hoarder. With how rarely I find the occasion to drink these decadent beers, maxing out doesn't make any sense to me. Two or three on all of them seems plenty, especially when they are coming out each year.

So, why did I join Hoarders? I get 20% off what I do buy and get the HS exclusives. Even though the initial cost was much, much higher, it comes back in beer, merchandise, and the 20%. And, I bet I still spend less than a number of RS members throughout the year, even with that initial cost.

I realize this has little to do with the thread topic, but I have seen a few posts about maxing out allocations. In addition, I know the website crashing is frustrating and needs to be addressed by The Bruery if they plan to do online sales like this CR one and want to keep people happy, but it's a valid question for people to ask: how much CR do you need? It's ~19% for god's sake.

The fact that you have to hop back and forth between screens to add multiple items and change quantities certainly doesn't help the server load either. Just having a form with quantities to fill would seem to make so much more sense...

I was only able to add one to my cart and everytime I tried to up the quantity it said it was sold out.....

But just when I was about to give up I found a loophole to get 4 and placed 2 seperate orders for 4 at a time so I was able to get through and buy 8. :grinning: but had to pay 2x for shipping :slight_frown:

I noticed that sometimes it won't let you modify the qty directly from the cart, but if you go back and continue to shop you can just click the same beer and add one more. Then just rinse and repeat until you get what you need.

No. There's a flaw in your logic. Waiting 4-5 hours won't guarantee anything. Three hours would have been plenty of time the year before.

    Nope. I don't recall what I wore that day, but I do know that I don't own a Ben Hogan-style hat.

But I have to admit to googling "Ben Hogan-style hat".

Hell, waiting 20 minutes would have gotten you it in past releases. I've been at every release before GABF's winning and it was a constant steady bringing of thy hype. I recall when you could show up after everyone was let in at the opening of doors and still get your six bottles and a growler fill.

But as it became evident, the word of mouth on the beer spread and there you have it. I showed up around 5ish this last time and I even felt I was pushing it then.

There is a flaw in your logic: it's a new year. Stop living in the past. I was there Friday this year. Got there at round 6:30-7am and tickets were passed out at around 11am. I was 22nd in line. I'm not going to drive 3 hours and risk not getting bottles, so I left earlier than I thought I should have. It's really simple. No one has sympathy for your poor planning and lack of foresight.

Wow. Just like in previous posts, you apparently love telling people they way it is. As I've said to you before... Okay, you win. You're right. You obviously like it that way.

My post wasn't intended to be "living in the past," I simply stated that no one can make a fair comparison of missing out on CR through an online sale (when we already previously bought bottles) to waiting in a long and poorly run line. Enjoy your Citra this August, you deserve it for putting in more planning, foresight, and effort than me.

LOL @ driving 3hrs to stand in line for 6hrs for a fucking IPA. That isn't anything you should be bragging about.

Every year it's gets worse, more people want in on craft beer and there is no way breweries can keep up. There is always a tipping point to when it's not worth waiting for a limited release. I am we'll past that point, unless, the release is part of some sort of festival. I would do CFH again, but only because I had a blast in line and inside Churchills drinking an awesome tap list and eating great food. The bottles were just gravy at that point.

I'm only a 2012er, but learned quick, hype/whale status really has nothing to do with the taste of a beer. Just because a brewery puts an average beer in a barrel and releases only 80 bottles at a time, it tastes better and is worth giving a kidney for?! I think not.
