Last week, I poured a beer and watched as an insect flowed out. Left a message for the brewers and got no reply. Finally called HR and they just said they'd let the brewers know. Didn't apologize, take my name, number, nothing.

I didn't want to cause an uproar, use blackmail or extortion. I just wanted to let them know that it happened and assumed they would think it's a big deal.

But now that they've acted so nonchalant I wonder, do I at least deserve a replacement beer? Or is this something that happens once in a while and I should just deal with it and move on?

    What would you do?

Me? I'd get over it. It happens in a lot of things. You get bugs in lettuce and things too. Sometimes chicken heads make their way into the McNuggets too.

Of course, it's gross - and I'd be grossed out. I would also be unlikely to get more of their beer, especially if I was trying out a new brand. I bought a six-pack from a well-respected brewery and the bottles were clearly funked up. There were lots of floaters and it tasted weird (could have been just perception, but let's just say it did NOT look the way an IPA should). That was the last time I bought anything in 12-oz bottles from that brewery, even though it was probably just a freak accident.

If I were them, I would have cared more. I'd be rushing to make sure that you weren't turned off as a customer. I'd be rushing to make sure that you didn't have to come onto an internet forum and put their name all over the internet. I'd be rushing to make sure that their name didn't become synonymous with bugs in the bottles.

Is it a local place that you could bring the bottle to and talk to someone? If it is not local you are shit outa luck. It wont make an impact on them but dont buy their stuff for a while or untill you feel thst they have at least said sorry or something to make it better.

I would have done exactly as you did. Once they acted like they didn't have time or care to acknowledge my problem I would write them off for good.

I'm curious to which brewery it is...

I don't really need anything. I guess I'm just surprised at the response.

    Protein bro?

But really food regulation in the U.S. allows certain parts per million for stuff like that (bugs, debris, etc...)

No hand outs for you, move on

I understand now why you are pissed. That species of bug is best paired with a Belgian pale ale, not an APWA.
