Does anyone know anything about this beer? I bought it on a whim and am wondering what to expect. I ordered a 9er of Uerige Alt online and decided to add a 9er of something I'd never tred before. Eck is out in Stahlsturm country, East Bavaria, close to the Czech Republic, so I figured I can't go wrong. I can post a review some time next week when it comes, but in the meantime I'm just curious what we know about it. It doesn't appear to be on BA. Never tried it, but looks good to me (even if I am slightly skeptical of their Schnapsmuseum ). One thing that rural Bavaria -- and especially Franconia and (I suspect, as my knowledge of that area is more limited) the Oberpfalz/Bayerischer Wald -- does right is dunkles Lagerbier. Report back when you've tried it.
I've seen that place in my PrivateBraugasthof guide for years. Looks interesting, but a bit too far afield for me to get to when I'm in the Munich and/or Bamberg area... Hope it's tasty! Prosit!
Eck Böbrach ? Been there. Nice place and when I was there I had two of those Wilderer Dunkels to wash down my hunk of beef they served in their very nice brewpub. I can't (and won't attempt to) write a Tony-style review but from me it definetly get's a Thumbs Up
Yep, that's the one! The feedback here really has me looking forward to these...they should arrive some time early this week. Tomorrow, if I remember, I will e-mail someone at Sahm to see where I can find their products in HD. Hopefully I will have some interesting photos to share by week's end.
