I just recently went to Wines & More in Cranston and saw about 10 of each on the shelves. Seems a little pricey at $17.99. I had Parabola in my hand, but I really couldn't justify the price so I ended up getting a better value - 6-packs of Ipswich Summer and Sam Adams Double Agent IPL.

Anyway, I've also seen these at Gasbarro's in Seekonk a little more affordable at $14.99. I did end up picking up Sucaba and there are plenty left.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

I think you answered your own question, lol. 10 left on the shelf at $3-4 overpriced sounds about right! Shame on Wine & More in Cranston, shame on you!

It surprises me that more people don't take the reasonably short trip down to RI to take advantage of increased availability. It seems like stores in MA sell out of these limited releases so quickly due to the massive demand in the area that if you don't get in your car as soon as it's posted on FB/Twitter, you're SOL.

$3 more than average for a bottle of Parabola\Sucaba makes it sit? Send that shit down here.

Sucaba wasn't that rare in MA this year, as I managed to buy bottles over a period of weeks, but it wasn't that easy to come by. Parabola has been flying off shelves and I'm not sure if distributors have any reserves (like they did with Sucaba).

Yea I wouldn't think twice about paying $18 for either of those, although it is just another indictment of how shitty Wines & More is. How a big box store in Cranston is selling it for $18 while I bought it in downtown Boston for $16 and $12.50 (must have been a mistake) is beyond me.

Yeah and it's not just Parabola/Sucaba that are overpriced. Everything is..6-packs are $1.50-$2.00 more than everywhere else.

Oh I'm aware. I stopped at the one in Wareham on my way to the cape last summer. I have fond memories of Total Wine from back when I lived in NC and I don't have the "big box" option in Boston so I was pretty excited. EVERYTHING was more than I pay at small shops in Boston and there was a ton of old stock. $12 and $13 sixers of common beer, sixers "on sale" for $10.99. I have no idea why they charge so much more than any other store

Wines & More is guilty of the most egregious price mark-ups I have ever seen. It's downright shameful.

Totally. And they stock old beer.

I haven't looked very hard but Parabola doesn't seem to be in "Boston Proper" yet. My friend found it in Coolidge Corner yesterday, which seems odd. I'd like a bottle but I'm not going out of my way.

Sucaba for me was easy to find and stayed on the shelves awhile around me. Different story with Parabola as I got luck yesterday to find some as that was getting hard to find.

Going to be hard to find in RI. According to the distributor not to many cases came into the state for Parabola.

Pretty much everything has been easy to find in RI as opposed to the boston area. They were selling KBS by the 4 pack at multiple stores. I've been going to RI for more allocated releases when i'm in the area whenever possible.

I got 16 KBS on release day. I did have to do some hard driving around for that one, but I got it. High Spirits had Parabola as of Saturday, I bought my 2 (it was the limit) but there were still some more left. Unsure about now though.

Anyone know where I can get 1 Parabola in Providence county still? I grabbed 1 already but I want to age one and drink one. I was thinking about checking High Spirits in Providence to see if they had any left.

Depends how much you're looking for. Boston to Providence is going to be 2 hours of round trip driving and $15 worth of gas. For 2 bottles of Parabola, that would be rather ridiculous. Even if you don't value the time, you're adding $8 to the cost of each bottle. So $25/bottle, plus all that time?

If you have a good lead on a case or something, then sure, it makes sense. But for the occasional special release, it's pointlessly expensive IMO.

It really depends on the situation. Do you spend the extra time and money on gas, or hit up ISO:FT and spend less time and likely comparable money on shipping to get your limited release, not to mention giving up something in the trade.
