Just red a news article that said the huntington ribfest is cancelled and will be replaced with a beerfest Aug 16
I'm one of the individuals involved in the planning of this event and all of us are excited about making this a great festival. I can't divulge much information, but I can tell you that the tentative name is Rails and Ales and will be held downtown at Heritage Station. The date of the festival will be August 17th by the way.
Sweet! I'm only a hour away from Huntington! There every other weekend to go to the mall and stuff! This sounds great. Does anyone else have a link with more information? Edit: Nvm just read the post above.
Yep, it'll be called Rails and Ales and we are currently tweaking a logo. Expect much more info to come out soon. We will be working on a Facebook page and place for you to purchase advanced tickets. I can't really give you much more info beyond what I mentioned last time, but I can tell you that I have spoken with a few breweries recently and you guys should get excited. A few have promised to bring beers that have never been available in the WV market.

In case some of you are out of the loop, tickets are available at Bottle and Wedge here in Huntington. They're $25 and can be ordered over the phone or paid for in person. Our full website can be found at http://railsandales.com. I'm currently working with distributors and breweries to bring in some new brews. Great Lakes has promised to bring some brewpub only releases and Flying Dog will have Kujo on tap. Global Beer Network is going to be bringing several beers (many of them being from Petrus) that will be new to WV. As a side note, one of the distributors informed me that Green Flash might be in WV as soon as August. Additionally, distributors from all over the state are forming a craft distribution network to encourage breweries to enter the state.

Blaine is going to release another 100 tickets right before the event. If you call him you can be on the list to get them

As of right now, we don't know that we will be releasing more tickets. It all depends on how much beer we end up with.
