I am a maltmaven. English barleywines are my favorite style, followed by stouts and flanders oud bruins. I also enjoy BSDAs, dubbels, quads, sours, and saisons.
I like the flavors hops impart, but really do not care for bitterness, which makes it hard for me to appreciate most IPAs.
Recently, I have grown somewhat weary of bourbon barrel-aged beers. When the bourbon is adroitly incorporated into the base beer, it can be fantastic, but I feel that the bourbon overwhelms the other flavors in the majority of brews using this method.
