Been into craft beers the last several years, big into IPAs and IIPAs (cut my teeth on Racer 5 and Pliny), but I do have a soft spot for the much maligned Hell or High Watermelon as a go-to summer/camping beer. Still not completely sold on stouts/porters, but willing to try as extras.
Moved from SF to L.A. about nine months ago and miss the Monk's Kettle and Toronado, not to mention the 2-hour drive to Russian River, but am finding great L.A. beer bars--Mohawk Bend, Surly Goat, Blue Palms, and The Glendale Tap are favorites. Thumbs up to Eagle Rock Brewery for their Populist IPA; their tasting room's a lot of fun, too.
Enjouing becoming a part of this online community, would like to start meeting local BAs for in-person bottle trades.
