I'm a typical Austinite. I'm weird, crazy, and I love to drink. My beer tastes are a bit oddly varied. My favourites are both expensive dark beers and cheap malt liquors. When made right, either can be very appealing. I'm not a big fan of large hop use. It's good for balance in many beers, but I don't think it takes very much to provide a good balance. Hops tend to be absent or near-absent in my favourite beer styles. I'm also very into cost-effectiveness. Besides malt liquors, I also like to find decent adjunct lagers that are cheap. While I admit most are pretty bad, some adjunct lagers seem to be just right and are refreshing without being bland or gross. These tend to be some of the "old man beers" that have a distinct flavour to them, making them more appealing than their newer, or blander cousins.
