I think you're right, bro. I heard Steven say a similar thing about a series of IPAs recently when a buddy (JdoubleA) got me in to tour the brewery. Steven's a super laid back guy and there's nothing like being able to pick his brain about the RIS I'm considering barrel aging. Well, seeing all the barrels of EH and LP was cool too.

I've been told by a reputable source that it's also going to be extremely limited...at least in the Charlotte area.

Wow, this was a while ago! Sorry guys I've been slackin'. You guys seem to have reputable sources because everything that I have read thus far in this thread seems to be correct. We are indeed coming out with The Redeemer IIPA. Following that will be a sessionable (4-4.5%) IPA. Then we are going to be doing the same except in a black IPA format; an imperial black ipa and a sessionable black ipa.

Yesterday when I was at the brewery I got to sample the Redeemer and it is fantastic! One of those beers that you take a sip and can barely feel your tongue from the bitterness.

Thanks! Bombers, I assume? Looks like a sweet stout rather than an imperial, eh?

It is in bombers. I would actually say it is more of an American dry stout with a light-medium body (makes it really easy to drink). Coffee mostly in the aroma and vanilla comes in on the finish. Don't go into this beer expecting a vanilla bomb; It has got a subtle hint of vanilla.

Sources say it was in the bright tank as of last week so it shouldn't be too long.

Any news on The Bean? How's it tasting, is there any left at Bestway etc? I'm thinking about heading up to Greensboro tomorrow and am wondering if there is any left and how everybody has liked it so far.

Got some up the hill left, We're tapping a Bean on Nitro on Tuesday with those guys for a tasting! A little Bean on Nitro and Seven Devils, up here in the snow close to the brew's "namesake"! Woohoo!

-Both times I've been down there recently, I've had nitro and co2 at amos howards, simultaneously. It's a good beer, not overpowering with coffee, and the vanilla is only present towards the end. I don't know which one I like better, I like the tingle of the c02 and feel like the coffee shines better with that, but the nitro has a fuller body and the vanilla seems to come through better.

-The coffee is handled so well with this beer. It's there, but not in your face to the point of acridity like some other beers do. And it doesn't taste like cold coffee like others do.

-It is a light stout compared to Stick stout... I'd almost say it was a porter. But that's just in my limited beer knowledge that assumes porters are just stouts with a lighter body. Leif's probably right though, reading up on the irish dry stout description on this website sounds spot on.
