Midnight is a great beer. Also, congrats on your move to the light side

Thank you. Although the dark side was quicker, easier, more seductive. If I kept going down that path, forever would it dominate my destiny.

And yes, I have seen 'The Empire Strikes Back' roughly 4,678 times.

Re. BIPAs, Kooinda was my gate-way drug, and now I'm all turned around on them. I've come to realise it was me, not the beer, that was at fault. I didn't appreciate them for their charms.

Well it does help that Midnight and Kooinda are really, really good Black IPAs. Along with the now defunct Thorny Goat. Although I haven't yet tried B2 Bomber...

First time I've tried the Keto as I was put off by the tobacco, have to say I didn't notice it though

Not a patch on Karma Citra! Whats the role at Feral?

There was a terrible batch of Kooinda BIPA going around that was murky mud colour and tasted like onions. I dunno if Kooinda ever found out about the problem, but I stopped selling the beer for months because of that.

I'll be at Feral Monday if people want to know what is on tap.

Also, Wig & Pen just tapped a gueuze. I want to see if they will send me a bottle.

Not listening to Triple J Hottest 100 or going to a party.

Drinking Aooni IPA, then St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout. Probably SN stout next. Then maybe a Narwhal. In defiance of the weather.

Don't worry too much. The Gueuze is not all that amazing. It lacks any real level of intensity and complexity. The Beetroot Berliner on the other hand is fantastic.

Basically what i'm doing at the Sail now (management) in the Swan Valley, but BV has been a little vague. A bit of everything I imagine... Although Brendan is known for his sense of humour, so maybe I'm just there for comic relief. 'Look at this dangerously under qualified person' etc... We do get along well, so maybe he just needs a new drinking buddy.

Back on topic: After I finish work for this magnificent company (I'm still under internet guidelines...) a Beer Geek Brunch Weasel Bourbon Edition (that name is far too long), an Ale Smith Old Numbskull (thank you Mr Dgilks) and then a Murray's Ann. 6 (I have nothing to say in brackets about this).

Actually on the topic of Murray's, the Taphouse results were 'interesting'. No Clout Stout either. Odd. Also, it seems as though the 4 Pines ban did SFA. This probably needs it's own thread.

    I think you're developing a Bitburger addiction. Or you've picked up a sponsorship...

Into hour 18 of a partial power outage here. Today has been kicked off with a Rayon Vert and now a Bridgeport Kingpin.

Rayon Vert is working some serious Brett at the moment is is presenting like an unrefined Orval on roids. Kingpin is pleasant but unexciting. I probably won't be back for another.

Bridgeport, while priced well, are so boring.

Rayon Vert is my go to beer. So damn good.

Completely agree. I just cracked the Hop Czar too and there is nothing going on.

I really like the Rayon Vert. I probably liked it a little more a couple of months ago when the hops shined through a little more and the Brett was a back note rather than completely dominant.

Rayon Vert is a treat. I definitely rate it, as per my review.

    Recently enjoyed:
Migdal Bavel - Szechuan pepper complements the Saison yeast very nicely,
3 year old Trois Pistoles - excellent
Burleigh Hef - nonplussed the first couple of times I had this but very impressed this time.

Recently forced into drinking multiple (stale?) Chancer Golden Ale at a local pub with family. Possibly the dullest, most pointless beer I've had in some time. Then switched to 150 lashes, which was a marginal improvement.

It has developed out of a need to save some extra cash. I needed a cheap beer, though one which was of decent quality and tasted ok. Bitburger & Radeberger both qualified.

Took the day off to get drunk and cook shit with the wife and came across a Fou Foune at a random bottle shop in the City. Drinking now. Gosh, it's been way too long.

Ahh. Fou Foune. Love that stuff. 6 bottles came to Canberra and I had to snap them up immediately as I knew I wouldn't see it again soon. Thank goodness no one here knows about it.
