1st year they made it, it was horrible. Last year was good but I do agree, this years is the best of the bunch.

I think I already said this in the thread but Shiner Cheer is AMAZEBALLS.

Gimme that over 90% of the beer other Texas craft brewers make any day of the week. *just reminded himself that he needs to stock up*

My mother-in-law bought a six pack of the Farmhouse for Christmas dinner. I liked it a lot. All the farmhouse flavors seemed to be there, it had a nice mouthfeel, and it was quite drinkable. Would buy some for myself.

Also, Shiner was a gateway for me, especially their anniversary series. Glad to see this thread exists.

I can attribute Shiner beers to my transition into craft beer and to this day I still get excited to see new stuff from them. I bought a six-pack of the Farmhouse and shared it with my family on Christmas Eve. My non-beer-drinking mom loved it and my sour-beer-loving brother loved it too. It's good stuff. Not the best or most exciting saison but it's a good beer and will probably be a gateway beer for a lot of people.

I'm drinking the first Shiner Bock in a long time, and it's actually not that bad. I had a Cheer about a month ago, and that was a surprise. Also, there's a lot of Shiner Bock going on on It's Always Sunny. Bumblebee Tuna.

That's what I like about Shiner. You can throw back a 6 pk during a session and not have to worry about hangover, dehydration and taste bud burnout from all the hops and sours.

Hey, shouldn't there be a 104 coming out soon?

Do you know what style or is it possible the farmhouse is 104?

When did they change the recipe? Shiner Bock, for me, hasn't tasted as good as it had in the past. Way too metally lately

I don't know if it has changed, so much to me or if its just that I have tasted much better things and don't think its as."crafty" anymore.

Back in the 1990s... Shiner changed the recipe to their Bock. Lone Star had their "Natural Bock" which was a close approximation to the original Shiner Bock. At least from what people have told me... I was too young to drink back in that day and not even in Texas!

The new Lone Star Bock that just came out is just a cheap ripoff of the new Shiner Bock though.

actuially Ziegenbock is a rip of their own Amber bock which tastes nothing like shiner bock.
