Moon Tower Inn reopened last night. Did anybody go? They gave away free 400 growlers and had 66 beers on tap. Their kitchen doesn't open until Wednesday and they won't start brewing until after that. They plan to have two homebrews on at a time and said they have a whole bunch of recipes in the works.

No, I did not get to go, to...well, tired:grinning: after our Houston tasting. Though I need to check them out again soon. It has been way to long.

    I'm waiting until:

    A. There is food - That's the reason I love Moon Tower. Beer is a bonus.
    B. Hype dies down a bit.

Even with the hype, still not that crowded. Yet. It's still cold out. That said though, service was much improved from before. Hell, they still had free (empty) growlers available after midnight. Just waiting for the house brews to go on

Once the food hits, it will probably get WAY more crowded.

I hope their cooking time is significantly reduced with the fancy new kitchen, I remember when I waited 45 minutes for a single hot dog. at least they have more beer now, although its a trek through shitty roads to get there.

Dammit, I want a Hot Dog! lol

Yeah, 45 minute wait for a dog is rough.

I've heard that they had Tokyo on tap one night and were selling pitchers!!! lol

I didn't make it out either. What beers were on tap?

According to their Facebook page: The beer list will be on the bar at the tower this evening. If you're expecting us to post that shit everyday, you must be high. Welcome home kids.

Like I said, they had 66 beers on tap so I really can't remember them all. Their tap wall is kind of insane. All completely identical handles and nothing is labeled. Their menu is printed out on sheets of paper. All the beer is craft, lots of locals and the usuals, a couple on nitro, but nothing terribly rare or hard to find. I had the Lone Pint 667: Neighbor of the Beast IPA there for the first time. My girlfriend had (512) Pecan Porter on nitro.

    How was 667?

Wow. Well I am more impressed by that than I was before. I remember when those fuckers didn't even know what a growler was when they first posted the pics on Facebook. Now they have 66 taps of craft beer.

667 was very meh. Little to no hop character. Not bad, just not memorable for an IPA.

What beer did you taste? All I got was resiny pine and grapefruit. Same with Fort Bend Texas Lightning IPA.

Mine was resiny pine too, which I normally like, but there was something off about it. Can't really say what. I'll have to try it again sometime.

I had off cask at Rudz about 2 weeks ago.

It wasn't very good. Did give it a nice creamy texture too.

    Was just bland.

I would probably love this on cask. Needs something to kill the carb just a bit, and tone down the hops for me. Sounds perfect
