Yikes. $7 at Small Bar. You should stop there. I went Thursday and no one was drinking it.

Had it at FOBAB... its okay... nothing to go apeshit over.

Problem with FoBAB (and not really a problem but...) is that its hard to really appreciate anything as most of us are enjoying our 2oz and then rinsing / repeating with another great beer. Everything tastes really good (and if something stands out as amazing or bad you really know it is).

I have enjoyed Baudonia in a normal bar setting much more than I enjoyed the low storage barrel at FoBAB due to my ability to appreciate it and pick out nuances.

    Cheers!

it was the 2nd beer i tried.... and I had plenty of it since the guy was offereing free pours. And I thought it was better than the other 3 variants fwiw. It is as good maybe slightly worse than reg bcbs.

I have enjoyed it much more now than at FoBAB as well. Setting/surroundings definitely impact enjoyment. Is it the greatest beer ever? No, but it is a damn fine one and anyone who enjoys BCS will prolly love this one.

They almost all blend to their flavor profile. Rotating is too labor intensive and reduces capacity.

I also paid $12 at Blues Bar in Mt Prospect. Expensive, but I loved it!

Apeshit? I don't know but I thought the 2 glasses I had were fantastic! Would most definitely make it a point to try it again if I had the chance!

Goose island clybourn is seperate from the brewery. While obviously very connected, the brewing that goes on at goose island clybourn is just kept there. The Fulton and wood series comes out of the main brewery and gets distributed to various bars throughout Chicago. So in this case, goose island clybourn is just another bar that can get that beer.

pretty much this. even with as much bcbs as chicago has, i can only remember clybourn tapping it two or three times. that said, there's still a lot of amazing stuff that comes out of clybourn, most noteworthy (to me) was 'elijah', a doppelbock aged in elijah craig (not sure if it was 12 or 18) barrels that they had on tap on black friday. so, so good.

Elijah was mindblowingly good. My favorite of any GI Clybourn brews easily

I understand the concept. So the single barrel varieties from distilleries must be placed on above levels, so they don't have to work around them? Which would definitely change the oak profile in a bourbon, due to different temp changes...?
