It's about moderation. If I go out a few nights in a short period of time and get bombed on high ABV craft brews, I probably don't want to drink a beer again for a week or two. But if I have one or two in a session and call it a night, I don't really get tired of beer.

Nah, I combined a 1300 mile rd trip from NC via PA, VT, NY to visit my parents in PA for a night, and a week visiting my son stationed out of Ft Drum NY. All told it was maybe a 500 mile detour to Waterbury which I'll do again in the spring. He's going to Afghanistan in Aug so I'll make the run again. Waterbury is a really really great little beer town.

I guess if you're ALREADY driving a ton, it's not so bad. :grinning:

It's hard to lose interest in beer during this time of the year, when so many great seasonal/limited brews are being released.

I guess the latter is why I don't burn out often (along with being pretty new to this game) -- I often go 3 days without a beer just because life and my study schedule demand it. I guess it works, though!

    Depends who you're asking:
    Brain - hardly ever.
Liver - definitely. But the brain oftentimes wins out.
Bladder - all the time but I take care of it immediately.
Weight - yes, but I can work around it.

Agreed - if you pace yourself accordingly (which I admittedly didn't do in 2012), you won't get burned out at all.

I don't get spent on beer, but I do on styles of beer. For example, right now you couldn't get me to touch a big ass barely wine. I have zero interest in them. Czech Pils on the other hand....can't get enough!

I wouldn't call it a loss of interest as it is more like restraint so I don't drink everything I have, especially with the income I currently have, which is less than I prefer.

I definitely find myself taking breaks from beer, and going towards whiskey, just for a quick break. It never lasts long, but I know what you are saying.

There are times when I refrain from drinking, but it's not due to a loss of interest :sunglasses:

Interest no - that never goes away. Consumption - yes. I'm a three maybe four a week type to begin with, but can easily go a week or two without a beer...call me a heathen. I can take it.

Yes, all the time...that's more than periodically right?! Also, sometimes I just buy beer to have it, with no known intention of ever drinking it. It's more of a "Collecting" hobby for me.....sometimes. I also like doing that, because if we have tastings and I have had a few, I may bust a whale out to a roaring cheer...that's pretty cool when you are sharing with your best "drinking" friends.
