Is there anyone that lives close to De Dolle that can help me out?

So, I've spent hours and hours trying to find some Stille Nacht Reserva 2010 online. I really would like to get about 4-6 bottles, which makes things even harder. I've even been in contact with Kris at De Dolle, who helpfully tells me that there is 'lots' sitting at the brewery, and will be for a while. I've tried the trade angle a bit, but it's been a bit ridiculous trying when you're looking for this many bottles!

So, I had a thought, I've never tried a "gopickitupformebro" myself, and started to wonder if that would work! :stuck_out_tongue: Of course I'd compensate anyone who could help me out in some way (with beer, etc). The easiest might be just to buy you some extra SNR'10 for your troubles, to save on shipping things from mine end.

Also, I'd of course pay for any shipping charges or packing materials as well. I guess I'd prefer someone on here that has a trade history, and can pack really well! (use bubblewrap or a stryroshipper, etc) :sunglasses:

    Thanks,
    Ted

Just a quick update - I had an offer from a fellow BA just now to get me some bottles (well, 10 bottles in his example) at a price of 35€/bottle before shipping. Regretably, I cannot afford any offers at this price level, as I'm afriad I'm not rich enough to budget for that! I figured I'd mention this to save everyone some time...

    Thanks,
    Ted

Just to clarify (again) - I'm not looking to hire someone to make a long trip to get these beers, as I cannot afford to pay hundreds of Euro for someone's time, I'm just trying to see if I can find someone close to De Dolle who can do this for me at a reasonable cost. Example: I pay for 9 bottles, you can keep 3 and ship me 6, I cover all shipping costs/etc. I've done this for people countless times in the past with my local Half Pints brewery beers, keeping my fingers crossed for beer Karma on this one! :sunglasses:

    Cheers,
    Ted

You won't find it online, if they have any sense at all and don't want to cross Kris. I saw someone barge in and ask for dozens of bottles, supposedly for his "friends". They wouldn't have any of it, and rightfully so.

A friend of mine should be heading to Dolle next weekend. I'll try and see what I can do. You strike me as someone with legit love for the product. I'd like to mention you're absolutely the last person I'm willing to go through the effort for, so no further requests from anyone plzkthx

Thanks, any help with be great!

I actually emailed De Dolle directly and have been talking to Kris in emails, and he's been great in trying to help me out. He actually put me in contact with a fellow at their North Americian distributor B. United INTL in Connecticut. My contact there has been trying to find me some for me as well, but as he said "the horses have left the barn!" in that the small amount of cases of SNR they got went out to the stores and it's mostly been sold already.

ps: If things work out for you and your friend and he ends up knowing that he's going for sure, I can even send Kris an email to warn him that the beer he is picking up is for me so that he has no troubles buying the extra bottles, if you'd like. I've already been cleared to get some beer for pickup at the brewery, it's just a matter of finding my picker-upper! :stuck_out_tongue:

    Thanks,
    Ted

If they can be put to the side for you indefinitely, so to speak, I'm sure it can be done quite handily. Also: please feel free to out the reseller f***tard that charges you 35 euros a bottle. I hope those assholes can get a lifetime ban at the brewery.

Ok- I've sent Kris an email to verify everything!

On the reseller @ 35 euros, he told me that he had to drive 600km (300km each way!) to go pick them up hence the high cost to cover expenses, which I told him is crazy (the driving 600km for beer that is)! This was the reason for my posting message #3 above actually, I wasn't looking to hire something for a full day to drive and pick me up beer. Don't get me wrong, I *love* my De Dolle beer (especially Oerbier!), but am not rich enough to love it quite that much to spend 35/bottle before shipping unfortunately...:stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds good, as I have no sure-fire guarantee on my guy.

Better to just settle things with Andre then. I'll BM ya, you give him your details Ted.

That is not a fellow BA Ted, but a guy who wants to make a profit if you ask me. Wonder who that guy is because it can not be a Belgian guy who drives 600 kilometers.....Now i hope this is not a Dutchy....

There are lots of people in Belgium who buy and re-sell. I know a friend of mine is constantly baggering with a re-seller who likes to inflate prices pretty badly. Then again, lots of Americans are willing to pay it, which just compounds the problem. I guess this is part of the post-eBay world...

I agree with what you posted, but in my case here I actually had a couple of BA's reach out and help me get some SNR, at basically no profit! So good people do still exist...

What this SNR release has made me a bit aware of, is how hard people in Europe must have when it comes to acquiring American craft beer. I'd probably go crazy if every single ISO request I got was for Blabaer or some other obscure Cantillon or 3F all the time! Mind you, living in Canada I can sort of empathize a bit better than most with this...

Welcome to our world, hence my harsh profile description :stuck_out_tongue:

People only care about the stupidly rare one-offs. Tourists raid places like Kulminator and De Heeren exclusively for ridiculous vintages and don't have the common courtesy to have some beers on tap first, which is how they obviously make money. No wonder prices are raised to stupid levels in that case. I love how everyone seems to think we have easy access to ridiculously rare stuff. It's rare for a reason.

"Want some of my annual release or 10,000 bottle imperial stout? Crianza/Blauw/Roze/OG 50th Ann./Millennium/Framboos/Blabaer/... please!"

FRAMBOOS AND BLABAER ARE DANISH RELEASES AND FRAMBOOS WAS A GODDAMN ONE-OFF!!!!!

    Man, that felt good.

None, my serious beer geekery only started after I went to CBC and never heard of Sour & Bitter. So yes, at the worst possible time :grinning:
