I'll pile on. Edmund Fitzgerald is a must buy if you're a porter fan and Blackout Stout is a fine imperial stout. Really, all the regular lineup is solid, not crazy, just good stuff.

They have a 7bbl system for pub exclusives and a larger system for everything else, both are next to each other.

This is what I was going to suggest. Their Sampler Pack is definitely the way to go. The only year-round beer that's missing from their sampler is Commodore Perry, which is a great beer too. And as others have mentioned, Blackout Stout and Christmas Ale are the current seasonals which are definitely worth seeking out.

    My personal favorites:
    1) Barrel-aged Black Out Stout
    2) Black Out Stout
    3) Nosferatu (you just might get some at this time)
    4) Edmund Fitz.
    5) Burning River
    6) Comm. Perry

Edmund Fitzgerald is awesome and I highly recommend it. Dortmunder gold is very tasty but I'm not necessarily blown away by it, especially during the winter months.

I love GLBC and most of their stuff is solid, if not spectacular. But you want to find Fat Head's Head Hunter, preferably at the brewpub(where freshness is most likely).

Siberian Night from Thirsty Dog Brewing Company... it's a great RIS.

If you wanna try a fantastic IPA look for some Head Hunter from Fat Head's.

If you are on the west side you are close to Fat Head's as well as a lot of good beer stores, Rozi's, Simone', Lizardville all come to mind (I'm an eastsider). Not sure if any have a huge local selection if you are looking for single bottles.

Everything I've had from them has been stellar. Edmund Fitzgeralds is a must try for any porter lover. Dortmonder Gold - Solid. Eliot Ness - Solid. Christmas Ale - very good beer. Commodore Perry - another solid beer. The only beer I've had from them that I wasn't crazy about was the burning River IPA. Definetly give GLBC beers a shot.

Agreed on Ed fitz and black out. Burning river is nice, Lake Erie monster is awesome but probably not available. Not a fan of Christmas ale or nosferatu. If you go to the pub order some Ed fitz ice cream, it is delicious.

The Brew Kettle and Fatheads, both in/around Cleveland have amazing IPAs. If you are going through give them a try.

I echo the praise for Ed Fitz but not quite as highly as the BA raters often put it. Would love to snag a BA Blackout though.

Yeah, if you're visiting on the west side, you should definitely find an excuse to visit the Brewkettle and/or Fatheads. The Brewkettle has all their own beers for $3.25 during happy hour. A bargain that can't be beat!

I really like Nosferatu, might be my favorite GLBC beer, followed closely by Blackout Stout, Commodore Perry, Lake Erie Monster, and Edmund Fitz.

All their beer is good just some better than others. Pick a style you like and it will be good.

While it's not their best or most popular beer Eliot Ness is the one that started me on this crazy craft beer journey. Try them all.

What is your opinion of theie Doppelrock? Was gonna pick some up last year but the price point and not being a huge Great Lakes brewing fan, I decided to pass. Is it worth a try?

Burning River is my least favorite beer in the 12 and actually my least favorite of anything I've had from Great Lakes I'd like to see the Commodore take it's place in the 12. Burning River's name is apropo as the bitter finish keeps me from enjoying this APA fully.
