Not sure if this is a contest I want to win or not, but this last month set me back over $2000 in beer.
Planning to do a End of the World 12-21-2012 Party and drink all my best stuff with a bunch of friends.

How long ago? They've had the 2 bottle limit for a while, and their beers are cheap.

Small potatoes compared to some....$265 for a case of DFW WWS. Although I do purchase items throughout the month, that was my single largest beer purchase. Now, if you're talking bourbon.....I drop about $1,000 twice a year on personal barrel picks.

Well, please remember that I'm using today's dollar's and many of the bottles, by today's prices, have sold for/would sell for several hundred dollars a bottle. In fact, a few of the bottles may sell for a lot more than a few hundred dollars. And, I have several large beer tastings a year, as well as attend beer tastings every few weeks where I bring several bottles. (I don't think that there was one rare bottle that I purchased that was not tasted by at least 5 people and usually more).

It's far less in bottle quantity than you think.

It's a 4 bottle limit and when you have your wife there it's an 8 bottle limit

Most CCB releases I'll grab a case and then a crapload of other beers/glassware to throw as extras on trades and whatnot, so roughly $300-$350

In Vermont this past September, my total came to $1755, a lot of it was muling. 13 cases of Heady Topper, a dozen HF growlers, 3-4 cases of HF bottles, various Lawson's, and other local Vermont goodies...
That trip really caused me to re-evaluate some things...hehe.

And I did save the printout of the warning I got from my credit card for going over a limit on a single purchase...something to the effect of "You have surpassed your single transaction limit at THE ALCHEMIST CANNERY".

On average when I add a round to the fridge it's about 80-100 bucks for 4-5 bottles. I try not to do more than that at once. That's the fun in selectively adding to my cellar...it takes time and patience to build a great collection.
