Eventually, this will all fizzle out.

Not so sure you're right. I'd wager growth of consumers can outpace industry production capacity growth for years. We're still coming out of a recession. Imagine bull market territory with most everyone having a job who wants one.

It's impossible to brew world class beer AND satisfy the market.

The monks of Rochefort would disagree with you.

Not everyone gets Rochefort by the way. And Belgians are overrated, sours excluded.

Belgians are overrated...seriously? I doubt many of the better US breweries would exist if not for the influence and the brilliance of Belgian brewers. Quads, Dubbels, Tripels would not be brewed by US breweries and would not exist if not for the "overrated" Belgian brewers. They created these styles and perfected them...Belgium is the beer mecca of the world...saying they are "overrated" is just beer ignorance...

America is the best country for beer in the world. It isn't even close.

Americans brew every style and at a high quality. The competition has exploded in the past twenty years and it's benefitted the masses tenfold.

I don't fully disagree with you...but I still disagree. Depends what you're after...if you've ever enjoyed a Roch 10, St Bernardus ABT 12, or a Westy 12 and then compare that to American Belgian style ales...well there is no comparison. Rochefort 10 is absolutely brilliant, Westy 12 fantastic, St Bernie very good. If you favor 100+ IBU IIPA's then absolutely, American brewers do a much better job. But to say that Belgian brews are overrated just comes off as trivial and petty. I LOVE big American brews...but fact of the matter is that many would not exist if not for Belgian brewer's influence. That's why I whole heartedly disagree with the statement "Belgians are overrated"...it's like saying Sushi in America is better than Sushi in Japan...

I just consider Belgian styles too similar and bland, for the most part. I do like Saisons and of course I agree that St. bernardus and Westy are world class.

Back to the topic...I spend a lot of time on Ebay peddling my wares (not my beer of course) and I sent a couple of the sellers a message letting them know that the bidders were driving up the price to ensure they would not profit from their scalping ways. Think it would be cool to bombard these douchebags with similar messages to dissuade the practice...Who's with me?!?

I found a round trip ticket from Tokyo to LA for $630 bucks. I'm assuming it could be the same the other way, so Dark Lord can suck it if you'd rather visit asian chicks, japanese supercars, and tons of craft beer there.

About sums it up. Just make sure to dump a packet of splenda in that soy sauce to give it that nice, artificial sweetness last years batch had.
