Apparently we DON'T know all the real whales. None of those beers you listed in the first sentence is even remotely rare.

We all know true walez can only be found overseas. :grinning:

Whiskey Rodeo is probably the closest thing we've had.

I'm so sad about this. I showed up the day after release, like an idiot, hoping to get a bottle, and was told they'd sold out roughly four minutes after release.

They actually sold out 15 minutes before the release because they promised bottles to a dining room and patio full of patrons who had been sitting around an hour before hand eating/drinking.

Over it. I'm loving what the locals are putting out, old standbys and new offerings alike...regardless of "status" and perceived value. Drink up. Stop analyzing.

IMO if KtG is considered a whale, then 512's WADPP is definitely a whale. Ive had KtG and it paled in comparison to 512 by far.

And thats from an original NE person. Hell, their normal pecan porter was better than the 3 samples ive had of KtG.

But then again, im Mr. Lucky and none of my bottles of 512 had any problems.

We drank a 2004 Dark Lord a few months ago. It was too old and past it's prime. The top half of the bottle was alright, but the bottom was gritty and chunky. Literally made a "plop" sound when the last bit was poured. I wouldn't call it a "white wale" anymore. I wouldn't trade anything for it these days.

It sat on the floor at Gabriels in SA up until about a week and a half ago. They had tons of it. Lots of Bonnie still there.

    KtG won't be brewed again.

And those bottles were terrible compared to tap. Seriously, just bad.

    I see a certain TX beer with a 9/1 W/G ratio.

If you have a batch 1 of that bottle you could pull something fun towards the bottom of that list.

Someone opened a bottle of WBADPP at a tasting about a month ago and it was infected. Head was 5x as high as the beer itself and it was very light, no body on it at all. I was disappointed as it was the first time I'd tried it.

White Chocolate seemed like a "Whale" to me, but I got it pretty easily for a Whiskey Rodeo. The way I figure it, I have a beer you really want to drink, you have a bottle I really want to drink, let's trade. I don't care about rarity and I don't care about bottle price.

Please stop making sense. To many people want to rape ya for a rare/whale bottle. But, some folks are willing to give it up.
