Anyone know a lawyer that we can ask, or a FedEx employee? I think there should be a FAQ section on this. Policies for the carriers, fines & penalties. Options if caught. What's allowed by the shipping company and what's not.

Pretty sure beerandraidersfan is a lawyer, and badass in general.

Use pickup and leave your driver gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh (or modern day gifts of relatively equal value)?

I think its moreso because you agree that they can open your packages as part of the Terms of Service (TOS).

    I don't think there is a limit in the contract/TOS . . .

If fedex or their agents anywhere along the way want to open your package multiple times, they can.

Hold the retailer responsible for what?

I mean a held responsible/fine for what? For fedex finding alcohol in a package that was accepted by a third party retailer on behalf of fedex?

I guess if a retailer thinks that is a good situation to agree to with fedex, fine. I hope they did a cost/benefit analysis on what it takes to pay an employee to search through every box they receive for whatever commission % they make with fedex.

I certainly wouldn't ship through a retailer with a big incentive to get all up in your business and shipping contents.

Let us know what happens OP. I'm rooting for you! I'm really anxious to hear details of you sticking it to "the man" or in this case, Fed Ex

I fought the law and the law won...cops ended up saying they couldnt force the manager togive me my property back since I signed a terms of service agreement on my reciept that wasnt explained to me...looks like a loss, and I doubt he destroyed the beers, more like put them on ice will try them, hate them then pour them out.

Did what you signed give fedex the right to withhold or destroy your goods if they were in violation of your shipping policy?

Has anyone asked the OP why his trading partner is telling him who to ship with? I know it may be off topic, but I am curious as hell.

Although you seem to have already lost, why not pass out this retailers info on here? A simple email to the owner explaining how you felt what he did, while legal, was not what you consider good customer service and you'd be getting the word out to avoid his business.

I'm sure yourself, along with a few other BAers could knock down whatever Yelp review it may or may not have to dismal ratings at least ensuring that no one else falls victim to this place's Draconian policies!

my buddy has a bottle for me for one, I can do a local trade for another, and buy one of the others. the trade was for 2 of the same beers, and the others were extras.
at least it is St. Louis hunaphu and not the real huna . still hard to come by a limited release that was released a year ago.
