This isn't you trying to make a living. It's beer.

Got to Founders at 6 am,drove around the block and saw that I was to late based upon the line the previous year.
That being said a lot of people commited a lot time and money to being there early on a cold Saturday morning only to walk away empty handed. To me Founders should take care of the people who participate in this event and reward them for all they do by making sure everyone who shows up gets their beer . BEFORE they distibute it all over the midwest.

Another reason why Jackie O's is the best run release in the country. No 6 hour waits in line, employees on site distributing tickets before capacity is reached. This Founders release sounded like a shit show. The breweries could do their part to make line cutting much less of an issue.

Like a few others on here I was in the 6:30 arrival group. I have the glorious distinction of being the first person to not get any beer. My buddy in front of me got the last four pack. Hanging out in line was damn cold, but I had a lot of fun. I got to drink a lot of great beer. We knew where the tickets ended, but held out hope until the end. It's really disappointing that getting there at 6:30 didn't get you beer this year, but I could/should have gotten there earlier. I for one am glad they cut to half cases, but I understand why the guys that were there all night don't share that sentiment. Founder's has some lessons to learn regarding this year and I trust they will do better next year. Even being in Michigan and less than an hour from the brewery, the only way to get any KBS is to be there. So little beer hits distribution that it's nearly comical. We as a group are somewhat to blame for all these problems though. The hype machine has gotten out of control!

It was great meeting a lot of people in line and I hope to hear from some of you again!

Honestly, though, I don't think it should be the brewery's responsibility to police the lines. And even if they do bring in the Line Police & throw people out of the line for cutting, who's to say they won't just cut again when the Line Police aren't around? If a line is as big as the KBS one sounded, there's no way for the Line Police to watch the whole thing at all times. People need to self-police the line and/or be less douche-y.

My group got there around 6:15. Saw the line, said screw it, no way we're going to get any. Went to stand in the brewpub line with about 15 people in front of us and spoke to nice locals.

Once inside the brewpub, it was one of the best releases Ive been too, with plenty of space, lots of bartenders and waitrusses and easy access to walk around.

We probably would have been one of the last groups of people to get KBS if we stayed, so that's disappointing, but hey, I saved some money and had some good food and beer. Just like any other release, it's just beer.

No, I don't get your point. You are implying that your company wants to cut your pay in half just to screw you. A better analogy would be - you were employed with them for 2 years and your co-worker was employed for 1 year. Your boss tells you he is cutting your pay in half in order to be able to keep you co-worker employed since business is tough right now. I would still say the company was right for cutting your salary in order to keep someone else employed. Founders wasn't out to just screw you guys. They were trying to give more people a piece of the pie while still keeping a reasonable allocation.

Boy I am glad I took my kids to the Fresh Beat Band concert instead of the release! At first I was disappointed that I couldn't go. But it sure sounds like disaster

So, you guys are pissy because twice as many people got to enjoy KBS?

I got there at 6am, was #586 in line, and was grateful to receive my half case. I had an incredible day, met a ton of great people, and got to drink amazing beer. It was in no way a disaster. People around me were sharing incredible beers, all morning long. What I see as a disaster is hearing about people selling their allotment for $80 a 4 pack. I sold one of mine to a friend who was just after the cutoff for exactly what I paid for it, because I wanted to share. Stop being mad at a brewery because the beer is popular.

No. People are upset because they waited 10 hours longer that you did, slept in a chair or on the ground in the cold, and got the exact same thing you did at only half of what was previously communicated.

That being said, I'm actually glad that they allowed more people to get the beer, but I would have rather slept in my own bed than on the concrete after a three hour drive for 12 beers. Still a great event. I got to try some great beers with some really cool people last night.
