What about for lunch? Im assuming it's the same madness. Also, is it quick to go there on Saturday just to buy beer?

They now have a carryout room on the lefthand side of the brewery for people there to get cases and bombers. Unless they are releasing anything crazy, you'll spend more time trying to park than you will in line.

can you get glassware and shirts in the carry out line?

I've never tried, I'd give the brewery a call and ask. If this was any other brewery I'd assume yes, but with FFF, who knows.

    like zombie said, yes.

i was just there last night. got there around 7. grabbed some food, service was great as well as the beer (picked up a couple of risgoops). On the way out, went to the carry out line and grabbed my booze, 2 teku glasses and a pint glass (new color, teal) probably my favorite next to the orange.

everyone says, including me, to go on a weekday for the least amount of time but you're set to go on saturday. get there early and be prepared to wait.

Mordor asked about the tables and seating...hmm. from yesterdays memory, 4 or 5 tallboy tables, seats2 or 3 comfortably, the bar has , say 10 to 12 seats (probably a handful more) 4 more tables for 4 people, maybe 5 on a couple.
the other room which i barely peeked at has about 8 more times of 4 people? maybe 60 seats? never been when it's busy, do they allow people to idle by the bar standing room style? or is admittance strictly seating?

I'm not sure they'll let a group of five sit together. I know before the remodel, they would only sit a group of four.

And definitely make sure everyone is there at the same time. They won't even let you put your name on the list until your whole party is there.

How big was your group? This is only going to be for three people...

An email to them wouldn't be a bad idea, though.

Even if one person is at the store picking up these?

There were around 6-8 of us. This was back in the fall of 2010, though, and things might have changed. It's definitely worth looking into.

i saw a fairly large group yesterday, 5 people or 6. there were 2 tables put together, not sure at the request of the party or predesigned on fff's end. Don't take my word for it though. just call now and ask about party sizes and multiple tables.

Another recommendation: Call ahead of time just to verify that they'll be open. I've trekked out on two separate occasions and found them to be closed unannounced for private events. No indication or notice on their website, facebook or twitter, all of which I made a special point of checking, just a sign at the front door. Kind of a drag when I was visiting from Los Angeles.

Ha, thankfully no. Both times I was there as part of a larger Chicago beer trip. But as IL BAs know, the drive from Chicago to Munster can be a daunting trek, and sitting in traffic on the Dan Ryan Expwy can be a soul-sucking experience (especially when returning from a futile FFF run).

I have never had a problem with that. Pretty much every time we go, a couple of friends join us later. It's usually after we eat and are in hour 2.5 of our 4 hour visit if that makes a difference. And honestly, it's bad form to occupy a table and sip a beer for 30 minutes before the rest of your party gets there no matter where you're at.

But yes, Saturday at 7 would be a bad time to go. Hell, Saturday at noon can be a bad time to go. I was there last Saturday at about 9 and had to wait 10 minutes or so. It's hit or miss really, but I agree with the others that say go during the week.

1st, I'm no huge fan of Three Floyd's, and I dislike more of their stuff than I like. With that disclaimer, I thought the staff was great, despite the fact that my only experience there was the anny party which was a madhouse, so if they were ever to have a reason to be chippy, that'd be it!

Also, I find it near impossible to believe a brew pub such as this wouldn't follow the requirements to maintain their license, and clean their lines regularly. I also find it hard to believe they wouldn't have someone under contract who cleans the entire thing at once.

Yeah I have not had a problem with this either. Last time I went we had 3 people, and a 4th joined us an hour after we sat down. She just walked past the line and told the bouncer we had a table inside, and he let her walk right in. This was on a Saturday around 8pm when she joined so there was a pretty decent sized line.

The place was on fire during a recent visit (as discussed in multiple threads). I refused to exit fearing I would need to get back in line to get back inside. The burns have mostly healed. So worth it.

Stopped by FFF last Saturday at 3 pm to buy a case of zombie dust and there were probably five groups of four to six.people each outside waiting on tables. The line to the beer kiosk was four to five deep outside but moved rather quickly. I have nothing bad to say about FFF or Nick Floyd. I have him on my twitter list and we've tweeted a few times. His.business is a resounding success without much advertising.really just word of mouth.he can be a bit arrogant if he continues to make great beer.

I swear I saw one of those "Maximum Capacity" signs from the Fire Dept. hung up on one of the walls the last time I was there. Just can't remember the # on there.

    Might be imagining it...
