Nope - the bars I go to have pretty good stuff on draught already, and I can't reconcile spending that much on a bottle just to drink it at a bar.

Nope, not yet. Can't wait till I have enough money to buy expensive bar bottles, but I still won't. I'll spend that money on other crap.

Met a fellow BA a couple months back & split a Cherry Rye at a local pub & eatery - $23
Damn that was good, but I'm glad he was there to help because 11 oz was perfect that night.

no. never bought a bottle of beer at a bar.

    wouldn't pay more than $ 5 for a draft.

There's a formula for that: Beer in question(Quality+availability)+the occasion/$ in my bank account. There's a variable in there somewhere that includes whether or not my wife is there to talk me down.

That said, I don't think I've ever been to a place where this magic equation was fulfilled. Texas is trying to grow it's craft beer market, but charging people $25 for a bomber won't do it.

Wanna know why? Because they can. They will not fold and another W for capitalism.

No. Because I'm relatively poor and I don't want to pay for the mark-up.

There's a local bar I go to that has a decent bottle collection, but I haven't purchased any bottles from them yet. I didn't see any "I can only buy it here" bottles. Plus, they always have a good tap list anyways.

That being said, I heard Toronado in SF sold Cable Car and Cable Car Kriek. If I saw those bottles at a bar I'd buy it even at a considerable mark-up.

I prefer to drink in bars and have seen plenty of $25+ bottles but most of the same bars have just as good beers on tap. The other issue I have is I'm always alone so getting a big bottle for my self is usually dangerous.

Fantome for $22 at my favorite bar is reasonable IMO so Yes.

My bar is all about the drafts. Everything in bottles there is swill for the masses.

Rarely. Most of the time the good bottles are in the liquor stores in my area anyway. And with the amount I spend on beer weekly, I can't afford to be careless by spending an extra $10-20 on something I can find in a store.

If it is a beer that is worth $25, absolutely.
