Don't remember if they were describing the malts or hops, but the FFF Broo Doo label says "Anerican"

The Filmishmish label had arabic writing on it that didn't really say anything.

I have a magnum of Bon Chien in my cellar with an 11.2oz label on it. The funny part is they crossed out 11.2oz and wrote 25.4oz in pen, and then crossed THAT out and scribbled 50.8oz in even messier handwriting. The one thing they forgot to alter was the barcode, so I could see stores losing serious money on those magnums if they scanned at the price of an 11.2oz bottle and didn't get caught in time.

Don't get me started on barcodes. So many breweries have different priced beers with the same barcode it makes me sick. Very frustrating.

They also spelled caramel wrong (not carmel - this is one of my pet peeves), and I believe "asian" should be capitalized. In addition, there is both a period and an exclamation point at the end of one of the sentences. Terrible - if any - proofreading.

Bar codes in general are a pain in the ass. Neccessary, but still a pain. Other than the "2 prices, 1 barcode" I also ahve to deal with:

    • Brown/red silk-screening on brown glass (I'm looking at you Stone!). Bar code scanners aren't that good at color differentiation, please use some contrasting colors.
    • Bar codes so tiny or densely packed (cough, Lagunitas, cough) that the scanners can't read them.
    • Small companies "creating" their own bar codes, without bothering to check if the number overlaps with someone else's product.
    • Shelton Brothers, 12%, and B. United recycling bar codes on products from completely different breweries on with drastically different prices. Did you know that Alvinne Oaked Melchior ($20/bottle) and Hanssens Oudbeitje ($10/bottle) have the same bar code?

Be very careful with those bottles. The labels are on correctly - it's the bottle that is upside down. Open it carefully over the sink, with an empty glass underneath to catch the beer - otherwise you might be a lap full of hoppy goodness.

    Weird - the reviews from 2005 reference 12oz bottles. I can't even find a review mentioning a 750ml...

I crosschecked, and it's the 2005 vintage that has 750ml written on the label, even though it was packaged in 12oz bottles. It's possible they filled a few 750ml bottles and then ran out and were forced to use the remaining labels on other sizes. The first bottled vintages of BA Plead the 5th and Sour Plead the 5th were in 750s for sure, but that was somewhat recent.

I remember one of the earlier (maybe first) batch of Flying Fish's Forever Unloved Sandy had a misspelling in New Jersey. I believe it said New Jesrey. It cracked me up that a beer brewed to raise money for hurricane Sandy relief misspelled the name of the state it was trying to help.
