Understandable, but marketing is a good thing.
Wore my TG shirt to 4 hands in st. Louis and had a few people talk to me about you guys. Would love to have more swag to wear at other beer festivals, GABF in October, etc.

TG is a good story to tell and swag helps you do it.

But, if I have to choose...I'll pick the beer over swag, but don't make me choose!!!!

I LOVED the one growler I got from this place (Psuedo Sue I think..my brother got it in Hudson) and would seriously contemplate a trip down next time I am in the Twin Cities to load up on some growlers. Figure about two hours from the Twin Cities right? The big question is do they fill any growler or does it have to be their own...If it is the former I am there with 8 growlers....if it is the later I won't make the trip....

You can fill any growler with a govt warning label on it, as long as it is 64 oz. correct me I I'm wrong Clark Mike or Bob

Not trying to stir any shit or anything, but I 100% agree that marketing is a good thing. I know you guys already have a plan for the growth of your brewery and are completely focused on producing the best beers in the Midwest (which I can probably speak for us all and say we applaud and agree that should be the focus), but, you could benefit from growing your merchandising. I know a LOT of people who would gladly and proudly buy and wear a TG worksheet or t-shirt or hat, but have no easy way to get those items.

If you guys opened a simple web store and offered a few shirts, glassware or bottle openers....I think that would be a decent way to not only promote your product/brands, but also produce a little bit of side revenue, which is always nice.

I reliaze TG has probably already explored your potential avenues, but I would suggest storenvy for a simple web store. http://www.storenvy.com/

    Not
Not sure if you were at darkness day or not but the Hop Patrol was out in full force, they were Handing out free glassware like it was going out of style. Best part of all, the glass was full of beer! They got shirts for sale at the brewpub and I'm sure you could email them and they'd mail you one out if you sent a check. I'd rather the time be spent making awesome IPAS and not designing shirts. With thy bein said, send me a BM and ill be glad to mail you a TG shirt in a trade.

    Don't we all.

But honestly....I think it is a decent business strategy, as long as you don't overproduce your merchandise and invest a lot in inventory you will be sitting on for many months. I would bet it would sell well though.

Never tried to email and find out about apparel, but according to their website, they said no phone/email orders accepted for shirts. It is about a 3 hour drive for me here in Des Moins to the brewery, and I actually haven't made it yet. When I do make the venture (soon hopefully), I hope to score a Hop Patrol shirt.

For a moment I thought Jawzman's picture said "I love Beer and Rape." I was like woah... Then I realized it was probably the Schell's barleywine that made me read it incorrectly. lol
