Do any of the shipping companies xray? Same with airlines...I'd be worried the SS would raise a flag and warrant inspection...worker opens the as growler...beer ruined. I know when in was flying from Portland to San Diego I checked through 4 3gal kegs that were empty/open when the xray machine wasin the lobby. I watched the TSA freak out and open my bags. I was watching and told them they were open and empty. No biggie...but a full SS growler could be filled with anything from their perspective...I'm too scared to try it and I see their view point. Same with shipping. Red flag.

As for MikeTen he must be an internet anonymous tough guy. There's no way he'd say this to a brewery owner face to face.

especially to tell them he called the ABC in to root through their business because he perceives they're not moving fast enough on his abritary timeline.

Evilc... where did you order a blank SS growler from?

MikeTen: the hero BA needs, but doesn't deserve!!!

I will never visit a brewery that refuses to fill a blank growler again. To be honest, growler fills are a sham to begin with, anybody who gets them filled is a sucker to the system

I'm not the one who came out swinging for the fences giving out "Douchebag of the year" awards, and I didn't threaten anyone.

You've been around for 6 weeks. Whose anonymous tough guy troll account are you?

So then, bluntly: which breweries did you contact the ABC about?

You're kidding, right? Open myself up to ANOTHER round of name-calling and abuse.

Let's just pretend it's breweries you don't care about. It'll help you sleep at night.

Well, you sure seemed not to care about it before. You're awfully defensive once you're asked to back up your bluster.

You act like I have some sort of dog in this fight. I don't. I want this mess cleared up. Yet where you and I differ is that I don't agree that financial/regulatory threats stemming from the public are the most effective way to get action.

Wasnt for me...it was for the breweries you're dicking over.

Figure they might like to know who's screwing with their business.

I'm pretty sure the breweries will be fine despite what MikeTen did. BTW, what's with the brewery apologist stance? Most of the people discussing this issue here are providing plenty of rational arguments for why this recent clarification in the law would be beneficial to both the brewery and consumer, yet your posts in this thread give off an apologist tone.

There's a difference between not caring when attacked and openly giving you more ammunition for a second round of attacks. I only hope my silence is as irritating to you as you guys have been to me over the past couple of days.

That's fine. You're entitled to your viewpoint. I still don't get why anyone thinks it is ok for any brewery to use the law as protection when they're not following it in the first place.

I'm not going to listen to a troll account get preachy over anonymity.

There's a few folks posting here like that. It's actually kind of amusing that they think the "won't someone think of the poor children brewers works for this particular argument. They've been using the law to shaft consumers for years, but using that same law back on them is mean and hurtful!

They weren't shafting anyone. A brewery isn't required by law to fill blank/other growlers.

You could always prove your commitment to openness by telling everyone your other screenname. I'd look really foolish then.

The issue isn't me or my single account. Nice attempt at deflection. This is about you acting like an ass and whining to the ABC. You're the only one who's done anything that may harm a brewery that we're supposed to be advocates for.

Not speaking for MikeTen, but personally I'm an advocate for good beer and not the breweries. Not sure why you're blindly supporting them over the consumers.

....Really? Not a shred of irony?

The issue isn't either of us. It's getting easier access to good beer. You guys have such low self-esteem that you're not only willing to accept the status quo, you hammer wildly at people seeking to change it.

And for the last time, stop complaining that I'm doing things anonymously if you can't even face me with your real account. It makes you lose credibility.

Ha. Your arrogance is truly blinding you. You're not helping at all. Done with you. Hope some brewieres ban you.

    This thread has gotten silly.

Bottom line is that we all want breweries to fill blank growlers with legal documentation. What I have learned is that most breweries are very consumer friendly, so I am guessing they are working on this. I give it ~6 months until this is all settled.
