Looking for fellow beer enthusiasts in the South/Southwest Suburbs of Chicago. Have tried to convert the few remaining friends who haven't moved to the city with no luck. I would like to create a network of Southsiders who enjoy and appreciate beer as I do. Perhaps create a thread where we can initiate trades and exchange ideas...

Didn't think it was open yet. Thanks for the heads up.
How's the rest of their beer?

Not bad - founders, great lakes (nothing seasonal), revolution, and most of the other usuals. A highly underrated place to buy some good beer though are Berkot's grocery stores. I've gotten FFF, BCBCS, and Bell's seasonals there.

I would like to create a group of south-suburbanites to share this information with...initiate beer trades, and possibly meet up to share our enthusiasm for craft beer

Agreed, looks like tribes is tapping some HOPSLAM! today, it will probably stick around til at least tomorrow due to this snowfall we are experiencing. Also, it looks like Rt. 30 Liquors in New Lenox has Great Lakes Alchemy Hr. - anyone ever had this? have heard mixed reviews on it...

I was there this morning. Check out my post on "post a pic of your latest haul". One of the best beer selections for a grocery store I've seen. Only Berkot's is better.

Has anyone taken a look at the Naperville Alefest list of breweries? Seems like a pretty legit festival, tickets go on sale tomorrow...

    New Lenox here.

Apparently, Route 30 Liquors in New Lenox is under new ownership and is intent on ramping up what they carry craft wise. They seem really open to suggestions/advice from customers too.

Little South of Joliet here. You be quiet about Berkot's!

Always in to meet some new geeks and share some good beer.
