Appearance: yellow tint, dark gold. very small head, no lacing, not an appealing looking beer to be honest.
Smell: interesting! there's something different in this one from the typical lager. apple, grass, and a hint of honey are all present.
Taste: floral with apple and honey notes. this is the second Mitchell's beer I've had and there's definitely some honey flavors in both.
Mouthfeel: a little syrupy for a euro pale lager. carbonation is low, but it works.
Drinkability: different, solid lager. definitely worth trying, although the mouthfeel is a little heavy.

Beautiful rich bodied lager with a smooth bitter finish. Strong scent of hops and wheat

Got from Chalkboard cafe in downtown Joburg on a hot late summer afternoon happy hour. Pours the typical pale African lager color, little head, not much carbonation (unlike many other African beers). I was prepared to be disappointed a la Castle, Hansa, and the like, by a watery taste.
First difference was the smell. It was subtle, not overly beer, and a little tart.
The tartness carried through the taste, and though I rarely name flavor notes, I swear this came through with tart apple, which was very refreshing, not overpowering, and a great, great taste. Finally, a session beer with taste.

A: drank straight from bottle - assume to be golden/yellowish
S: faint floral hops, and an artificial candy-like sweetness
T: fruitier and hoppier than the standard lager. Crisp hops quickly fade to a slightly sweet body. Finishes slightly yeasty - very unexpected.
M: low carbonation for a lager straight out of the bottle, thin body.
D: Very drinkable, definitely a hot summer day beverage.
Bottle purchased and drank on top of Table Mountain in May '10.
^submitted photo is mine. apologies for the un-neutral background.
