A - Pours a dark copper/amber, not a lot of head on it.

S - Bright smelling--citrusy hops smell comes through nicely.

T - More hops than I actually expected. Citrus develops in the bottom of the mouth and spreads. Even a little bit spicy on the finish.

M - Not a lot of carbonation coming through, goes down pretty smooth. Thick coating on the throat--aftertaste a bit smokey.

D - Pretty easy to drink. It 'feels' heavier than it probably is on the stomach.

Copper it absolutely is, ruddy and thick and impossible to see through. The tan head grows to over a finger and a half in height and displays some density. It's been a while since I've seen the rocky cragginess in a head this one's got. Lacing is left in good quantity and pretty thickly.
The aroma's a little nondescript, though there's an evident malts backing that still permits the hoppiness to come out, caramel being evident foremost before some fruits, citrus and otherwise, and perhaps floral notes come out. The roasting is what is drawn out very evidently as I continue; roasted grains all the way underneath.
More citrus comes out in the flavor but, again, it goes a little nondescript and then roasted grains become the foremost flavor. It's evidently well balanced, but could be cleaner as well as hoppier.
Fairly smooth but whith a crispness that's just a little too faint, it ends up feeling a little "fuzzy," so to speak, though not bad. A bit of heft wouldn't hurt, but it's on the edge of medium in the body.
