Next up, the IPA from Saranac mixed sampler. Poured into a fresh pint glass from bottle.
A: rocky two finger head. light brown straw-ish color.
S: lemon-lime and grassy, and, strangely, toasted caramel maltiness? Subtle, but it's there.
T: Not a punch in the face like most IPA's, a balanced and smooth, pungent but not overboard. lemongrassy and then there's a slight malt character in there. Dissipates very quickly.
M: almost what I would describe as slightly creamy, which is odd. Light and watery, but with dry finish.
D: the bitters in the aftertaste makes it difficult to want a few of these.
Overall, I liked it fine: perfectly average in most every way. But, if I'm having a hoppy beer I'll reach for others like SNPA in the future first before this one.

Bottle poured into glass gives a small, light biege head with good retention that is fairly creamy. Beer is a golden, pale amber color. Leaves moderate lacing down glass. Smells of burnt caramel malt, doughy bread, and a bit of floral hops.
The biggest taste is burnt caramel malt. Also some floral along with bread. Has a very bitter middle-end, but with a crisp finish. A light, non-hop forward IPA, that is very bitter w/o much other flavor from any hops. Body is light and creamy, with medium/high carbonation.

12oz bottle into a goblet. no bottling date.
Pours a bronze color with a half inch white head. Nothing unusual. On the nose is a mild hoppy, citrusy aroma. It's not bad. Taste is very unusual for an IPA. Extremely subdued hops and some malt on the back as well. The flavors are there they just dont do it for me. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Drinkability is decent.
Overall this is an alright beer overall but not a remarkable IPA. Its not "bold." More targeted for non craft beer drinkers IMO.

Served in a pint glass.
AppearanceL Has a clear darker gold color to the body with heavy heavy bubbles on the body created a white head that rose to just about one finger's length.
Smell: Light hops, but feels a little skunk...I am a huge fan of IPAs and something seems a little off.
Taste: Very bitter, feels piney but no complexity to it at all. Hops are strong but dont expect much else with pinches of sourness makes you think a lemon was squeezed into this.
Mouth: Has a pretty high carbonation, with a bitter finish that feels like pine wood.
Overall: Not bad but i wouldn't go crazy for it. I have had much better American IPAs but just to slam one down to have right after work it definitely wouldn't hurt. Salud!

Deep golden color, very clear. Coarsely bubbled but with a nice medium sized white head with some creaminess on top and some retention.
Pine hop aroma initially hidden beneath big head, a metallic/copper penny smell. Overall the aromas aren't very rich or impressive.
Slight caramel malt flavor initially, then a rush of more earthy pine-like hop flavor and hop bitterness takes over. Surprisingly nice hop flavor given the lack of a good aroma. Assertively bitter into the finish, but not overpowering. Earthiness of the hop flavor becomes tedious at times. A better blend of hops would help the flavor.
Medium body and carbonation, no astringency, hints of warming which seems hard to believe in a 5.8% beer. Dinner not sitting right?
Overall very drinkable, but the hop flavor is a little crude. If earthy hops are your thing, this is your beer.
