12 oz brown bottle with no freshness date.
A- Clear shimmering golden hue, great lacing on the glass.
S- Herbal hop with a hit of dried orange peel from the Cascade hops.
T- Obvious push of Cascade hop flavor, mildly bitter with a soothing hop oil. Snappy malt palate, refreshing wheat malt flavor. Finishes with a long lingering oily hop flavor and a kiss of malt sweetness.
M- Light bodied with for that summery feel, fluffy yet crisp.
D- Use as either a thirst quencher on a hot day or a starter beer before a night out.

12 ounce brown bottle poured into my shaker glass. Appears a crystal clear golden yellow color with a finger of quickly fading off white foam. Smells and tastes of lightly toasted grains, grass, very mild earthy hops, and a touch of sweet malt. A bit thin bodied with about average carbonation for the style.

This beer pours a golden color with some clouds but not really a head. The nose is pretty tough to pick out of the fresh cool sensation that comes off a freshly poured beer. Smooth and clean flavor from attack to finish. Pretty nice balance and overall composition. No characeristics really stand out. The mouthfeel is thick. Clean and fresh as far as overall evaluation. By that I mean that its a good beer for hanging out in the yard, but not one to bust out for your beer advocate buddies necessarily.

Poured clear golden yellow with a thick white foam that died down quickly.
Smell was light hop, otherwise not noticable.
Taste was clean, dry, mildly hopped. Ever so slightly watery, but not so much that it hurt the taste. Mildly sweet.
Not a remarkable beer, but a drinkable pils that was a good part of the sampler. Tasty. I'd go back to this one.

A - poured a clear honey yellow with a 1" head that disappeared in 3 minutes and left minimal lacing
S - hints of apples, apricots, light malts, and grassy hops. Tones of wheat as well.
T - decent amount of hops up front but rather malty for a pils. Touch of apple cider. The taste as a whole seems watered down.
M - light bodied, medium carbonation
D - Drinkable, refreshing at least.
Overall - A decent pilsener from Saranac. Although I would prefer a Lowenbrau, Warsteiner, or Bitburger, I would drink this if I ever bought the summer variety pack again. Otherwise, a decent attempt.

Saranac Golden Pilsener is a clear, bright yellow lager with a soft white head that completely dissipates before long. The aroma is herbal and somewhat metallic. There are notes of mint and vegetables. It is very light, watery and rather flat. There is a slightly hoppy flavor and some light lemon, eucalyptus and... chemicals. I just mowed the lawn before I drank this. I'm not sure if that helped the rating at all.

Poured from a bottle into my Heavy Seas pint glass
A - Pours a flat light golden color with no foam to speak of
S - light wheat and grass smell with just a bit of hops
T - has a malty taste to it with a slightly citrus hop flavor
M/D - Not a bad beer, but not my favorite. I could drink this all day as long as I'm not looking for major flavors or excitement.

ought as part of the Saranac 12 Beers of Summer mix pack ($11.99/12)
I must admit, this is one of my favorite overall styles and this one was by far the best in the 12 pack. The Saranack Adirondack Lager is also listed as a Pilsener but this is much better. Some nice fruity taste, well bodied, and highly carbonated which makes for a great beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a decent, creamy white head, good lacing. Aroma is of wheat, grass, a touch of pine hops and yeast. Flavor is crisp, light malts, and citrusy hops. It is very light bodied, lively mouthfeel, but a bit watery. Very drinkable, but not much substance (if that makes any sense?).

Bottle has cobalt blue label with standard "Saranac" in black on a gold field on the cap.
Pours a light honey color into weizen glass. About a quarter inch of thin white head leaves a bit of lacing throughout the drink. Smells of fruit, spices, some light hops, and berries. Mouthfeel is loose and refreshing with carbonation that enhances the medium body. Taste is of yeast, apple, a bit of hops at the finish, less than I expected. The only other pilsener I have ever tried was a Scrimshaw Pilsener shipped from the west coast, so its region may have influenced my view on the amount of hops required for a pilsener.
Best thing about this beer is appearance. After the head reduces to a cap, the active carbonation can be seen frothing up from the bottom of the glass at the surface. The color is exquisite. Everything else is fairly average.

Opaque, light "golden" body--effervescent throughout with a thick, pillowy head in a jever pokal... nice lacing as the glass's contents drain... soft, smooth pilsner malts... surprised at the labels' "wheat" nomenclature--don't quite see or smell that--soft pings of hops here and there--somewhat complex... crisp, dry palate, reminiscnet of a white wine in some respects... medium-bodied with some ending effervescence... little at the teeth to denote hops, and yet the slightly acidic burn--again, like a lesser wine--curbs and scrapes the end result... I had higher hopes for this pilsner, which straddles the American and European varieties into a muddled result, a pleasantly clean, tastebud-confusing blend...
