Notes:
We’ve teamed up with Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales to create a special collaborative oak aged ale with plums, brewed to celebrate Plum Market’s 5 year anniversary. The special sour blend is aged on organic Royal Diamond plums; it’s an amber with a hint of roast, malty, sweet, and sour, and the delicate aroma and delicious flavor of more plums than you can shake a stick at.

750mL bottle poured into a tulip. Thanks for sharing this Matt!
(A)- Pours a pale reddish brown hue. Some white froth formed.
(S)- A dry oaky, but fruity cherry/plum action. Subtle acidic funk, but very subtle.
(T)- Dry and oaky primarily. Subtle fruit (very subtle).
(M)- A good carbonation level. A touch thin on body and taste, but this sure shows the barrel a' plenty.
(O)- Unique, but it just needed something more to it.

Thanks trxxpaxxs for sharing this bottle
The beer pours a light amber with a quarter-inch of off-white head and modest lacing. The nose is different than I'd expected - sweet distinct plumb with a touch of sour ad spice. The taste is equally potent and flavorful. It's definitely in par with the other malty sours from JP. The mouthfeel presents plumb sweetness upfront followed by a semi-dry, clean, malty finish. This is a tasty, drinkable sour that's more similar to a JP shelf sour than it would be to a grand reserve.

Overall, a nice decent sour with a mild plum take but not much beyond it.

Batch 976, 03-26-2012. One year old bottle poured into my Oxbow snifter.
A: Perfectly clear copper/orange with pinkish hues. Nice white fizzy acidic looking head fades quickly as it settles to a patchy thin rim. Looks decently carbonated. Solid looking beer.
S: Well there it is...the JP funk. Nicely acidic and vinegary. Some candy aromas...like a candy push pop. Lightly fruity...but mostly funky and acidic...smells a lot like a Flander's style beer.
T/M: Hits your tongue with a real, real quick hit of acidic sourness...then fades very quickly into a layer of funk. A bit of that candy sweetness in the aroma but not much. Maybe some light fruit. Very light tasting beer. Certainly refreshing, but not overwheming in any way. The body is pretty nice. I'd call it medium-thin...a nice bit of a creamy layering on the tongue. Could maybe use just a touch more carbonation.
O: Not bad. Not great. I might call it a little underwhelming, but certainly still a good beer. The aroma is significantly better than the taste. I didn't have a fresh bottle so I don't know what the year of age has accomplished if anything. I wouldn't seek it out, but I'd happily drink another bottle.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orange/amber color ale with a relatively large foamy head with average retention and some minimal lacing. Aroma of tart notes with light residual sugar notes also perceptible. Taste is dominated by tart notes with light Brett notes of wet leather and some vinous notes with light residuals sugar perceptible in the aftertaste. Body is about average with medium carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not the best from this famous brewery with plums being somewhat hard to distinguish and not as funky as some other JP beers.

Thanks, Jim! Served in a Jolly Pumpkin tulip. Nose has a bit of plum skin; fruit not overpowering. Dry bread. Flavor has some plum tannin. Light-medium body. No real funk.
UPDATE: After having this a second time, everything had melded together a bit more, but it still didn't stand out in any particular way.

Bottle shared by Thorpe429, thanks! A long time want. Beer isn't as fruity as hoped but it is a nice beer overall. I'd have it again. I think most of these Jolly Pumpkin beers end up tasting the same after a year or so. Drink the fruity one quickly.
Beer is dark tan and hazy with a wispy white head of small bubbles, low retention, some lacing.
Aroma is sour and mildly fruity with a mild Brett character.
Beer is sweet with a tart finish, a succinic sort of sour with some lactic notes as well. The fruit is still there but it is pretty subtle. I would be interested in having a newer bottle of this if possible.

A-Pours a very turbid at first muddy brown then settles to a glorious amber. Initial 1.5 finger head of which only a light lacing remains.
S-Some berry and ginger as well as some oak and probably plum although it is rather subtle.
T-What stands out the most from this is the plum after taste. In my opinion it is dead on. It has the usual jolly pumpkin house taste yet very light on the funk and sour bite. It is very woody and filled with mixed berries but that juicy plum taste stands out.
M-I for one and very impressed with this beer's feel. It is slightly sour and very crisp with a near perfect carbonation.
O-I think this was a very cool beer. I find it a bit funny however that this beer does not have the snobby feel that Plum Market has (for those are not familiar it is a bit of a more exclusive Whole Foods that has an incredible beer and wine selection with some remarkably informed and helpful staff and Jolly Pumpkin has a lot of love for them). I just think what they charged for this was a little ridiculous. I do like this less sour-sour from JP good job.
