750 ml bottle poured into a tulip.

beer pours a clear ruby brown with a white/slightly pink 2 inch foamy head.

smells like a flemish sour. tart cherries and yeast with a subtle sweet note. as beer warms, i get a faint herbal characteristic (rose pedals/flower shop).

tastes super attenuated, with very little body a good deal of acidity and a tart finish.

mouthfeel lis light with crisp carbonation. the finish is dry.

overall impression is that this beer is, as described on the label, a delightful little saison. nothing too complex but crisp and refreshing.

A red beer with a white head that dissipates quickly.

Smells of tartness, brett, and sweet Belgian malt.

Taste is interesting. A tart peak fades into the JP brett (Bam) taste. The addition of the sour funk at the beginning makes this one much better for me that the other JP brett beers. Nice flavors from the malt - sweet and dry.

Very crisp, perhaps a tad thin.

A decent, crisp beer. I enjoyed this.

Described as a saison ale brewed with hibiscus and other herbs and flowers. The beer pours from a bottle by one of the friendly bartenders at the Ann Arbor Jolly Pumpkin beer pub.

The color is a clear, light plum color, almost dark pink with subtle purple hues. No head whatsoever just flat juice-like liquid that sits motionless in the glass. Pretty disappointing.

The aroma is floral, funky, and enticing. Interesting but the wild yeast character conflict with the sweet and subtle aromatics of the fruit, flowers and herbs. Overall there seems to be a mistake in the glass even with the interesting array of flavors.

The taste is much the same: somewhere between a funky saison and a fruit ale but not quite either and missing the unique and enjoyable qualities. The taste of plum, rose, pear and funky barnyardness all merge into a very agrarian profile.

All of this sits on a very light delicate body with no carbonation. I would not look for this beer again despite it's unique design and rarity from a overall good brewery.
