My wife picked me up a big bottle of this brew not because she's heard of Jolly Pumpkin's reputation or because she knows that I like a good saison on a hot day... she bought it for me because it has a puppy on the label. Good pick none the less!

A - Cloudy bronze with several small chunky-monkeys floating around in there after I poured the last glass. The prodigious head is white, crisp, and airy. Lots of crusty lace is left on the glass.

S - Funk o rama! This has a nice crisp tang on the nose that almost reminds me of Dijon mustard. This makes me think immediately of brettanomyces and dirty socks, but not dirty socks in a bad way.

T - Super-funky tang, mustard seeds, sourdough bread, and hay. Nice and tasty, but distinct enough to be really interesting.

M - Light in body and big on flavor, this one is highly carbonated and "fluffy" feeling in the mouth. Finishes relatively clean for such a funky brew, but I do get reminders of that brett flavor minutes later seemingly out of the blue.

D - A good summer sippin' brew. A little to stanky and funky for a session brew, but I like that sourness for just a one-beer-only occasion. A very well made Saison that ain't quite up to par with the gold standard (Saison Du Pont), but still a very very well made brew.

smells great , honey, wild yeast, slight sour, citrus, spice

Hazy golden yellow with flakes of yeast, big rocky white head

Taste is very mild, underwhelming, slightly watery

Light body, dry finish, high carbonation

Not a fan. Very low flavor profile.

From a 750 ml bottle (bottled 12-28-10) into a snifter. It looks like unfiltered apple cider, but with a fluffy, off-white head. About 1.5cm of sediment-loaded liquid was left in the bottle.

Smell: Wild yeast with a bit of a brett. Slightly sour and floral.

Taste: mild for style, with lingering Brett and wild yeast, leather, earthy hops and some lemon. Mildly sour and fruity.

M: Light, watery body; semi-dry; tart.

O: rather mild flavor; not a bad thing for the Brett component. Bretty/earthy/funky beers your kind of thing? ... then this one’s for you. For me, it's barely drinkable, at best.
