Poured from the 750 into a large tulip. Color is a fairly cloudy honey shade of amber. Big foamy white head that won't go away. Nice thick lacing as I enjoy the beer.
Smell is quite funky with a lot of tart fruit as well. Potent and pleasant at the same time. Sour without being overpowering. Lots of herbal smells in the nose to with some coriander spice as well. Complex smell is really inviting, on to the taste.
Taste is funky for sure, but not nearly as tart and sour as you would expect after smelling the beer. Barnyard funk is the dominant flavor with the herbalness in the nose coming through nicely on the palate. Some apple comes in as the beer warms. Taste is surprisingly simple, yet well done. After such a complex nose the flavor comes up a little short but this is still quite an enjoyable saison.
Tons of carbonation as expected. Bubbly, light mouthfeel and a bone dry finish. Just what you want in a saison. Overall a well done beer, just wish there was a bit more to it. The low alcohol and easy palatability make this a great one for a hot day. I'll grab another and save it for summer.

From a 750 ml bottle (bottled 12-28-10) into a snifter. It looks like unfiltered apple cider, but with a fluffy, off-white head. About 1.5cm of sediment-loaded liquid was left in the bottle.
Smell: Wild yeast with a bit of a brett. Slightly sour and floral.
Taste: mild for style, with lingering Brett and wild yeast, leather, earthy hops and some lemon. Mildly sour and fruity.
M: Light, watery body; semi-dry; tart.
O: rather mild flavor; not a bad thing for the Brett component. Bretty/earthy/funky beers your kind of thing? ... then this one’s for you. For me, it's barely drinkable, at best.
