On tap at the brewery, September 2012. Looked nice, light black, decent head and retention paired with pretty lace. And then its all downhill from here. . .
Minimal lactose aroma, mild roast, just not sweet enough. Chocolate seems lacking.
Taste, everything that was lacking in the aroma, was lacking in taste as well. Far too bitter in the mouthfeel. This is supposed to be a little sweet, choclatey, smooth. Its really none of those things. Why is this so bitter? Did they use too many hops (something Wynkoop doesn't even do in their 'hoppy' beers)? Did they find some super expensive curdled cream? Whatthedillio?
The parts that need emphasis are lacking, the parts that are prominent, shouldn't be there. A nice beer to look at, but jeez, talk about getting away from style guidelines, and not for the better.

Had this stout @ the brew pub yesterday afternoon. it is the best stout since Guiness. In fact I prefer it to the Guinness in The US. It is a smooth & flaourful stout with very subtle undertones. The flavour was consistent all the way through my pint. Never bitter, always smooth . all in all an outstanding brew that will never disappoint. No I do not work for Wynkoop brewery in any way.

4.8% confirmed. Served on-draught into a taster glass at Wynkoop. Cost was $1.00. Reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a one finger head of okay thickness, pretty good cream, white milky colour, and decent retention. Body colour is a solid nontransparent black. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.
Sm: Some cream, hints of roast, milk, and dark malts. A mild strength aroma. Predictable. Nothing unique or special.
T: Cream - with light hints of curdling. Light roast; nowhere near enough. Dark malts. A milky body and finish. Simple and somewhat boring. Nicely balanced, though. Irish cream comes through a biteen. No yeast character or alcohol comes through. Lacks subtlety and complexity.
Mf: Too smooth, too wet. Off for the style. Good thickness. Nice cream. Carbonation is adequate.
Dr: Drinkable but too simple. Nothing unique or special here. Well priced as a taster, but it's so mundane I doubt I'd get it again. Meh.

Had dinner at the Wynkoop Brewery with a friend.
This brew pours a black color. short tan color head. Nice retention and good lacing. get a sniff of sweet malt, bit of hop, and slight oatmeal. Mouth feel is smooth slight carbonation . Very nice taste of malt, some oatmeal, minimal hops. A nice stout that drinks well.

a dry irish stout merges with an american milk stout in a delightful new take on a milk stout. pours a bit darker than a guinness with similar cascading, frothy white head 3/4 of an inch thick. smells a touch sweet, but not overdone. taste is rich and nutty, with a hint of that milk sugar. what is interesting here is the mouthfeel. this feels like a light beer, body is closer to medium, but the nitro pour and the general dryness of this beer contribute to a freakishly sessionable milk stout. one of wynkoops better beers. really good with a buffalo burger grilled medium rare.

Pours a black color. 1/3 inch head of a tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, slight hop, and slight oatmeal. Fits the style of a Milk / Sweet Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, slight oatmeal, hint of hop, slight pale malt, and a hint of roasted malt. Overall, good appearance, feel, blend, and body.

First had: on tap at their brewpub
A fine stout. Poured an opaque black, with a thick, tan head, creamy from the nitro. Dark roasted malts in the aroma, dark chocolate and coffee, and likewise in the taste. Nothing out of the ordinary to speak of here, just a typically good stout all over. Heavy-medium body, smooth in the mouth, and quite drinkable.

Thanks very much to Marty for the snacks and beers at the brewery last week. Served on nitro, and as such this one poured black with a big, creamy tan head. Aromas of chocolate, dark malt and coffee. Creamy and light bodied, sweet, with flavors of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee.
