Apearance: dark, stormy, deep brown black, opaque, tan head that lingers.
Smell: chocolate, roasted malts
Taste: dark chocolate, sweet, coffee, finishes dry though, burnt caramel.
Mouthfeel: substantial, creaminess
Drinkability: a tasty milk stout, a good example of the style. I would definitely get again. One of my favorites I tasted at the 'koop.

It seems fitting that beer review 750 would fall to a beer from the first brewpub I ever set foot in 15+ years ago. Served in a shaker pint glass.
A: Jet black with no light coming through. A dense beige head sticks the whole way down the glass and leaves substantial lace.
S: The nose on this one is pretty light. Espresso and baking chocolate, plus a little sugar.
T: Quite sweet, but not overpoweringly so. There's a lot of dark chocolate out of the gate. It's joined part way through by an almost candy sugar like sweetness. Bitterness is very mild and has an anise bite. Gets a little acidic toward the end.
M: The light body is silky smooth.
D: Wynkoop's beers have come a long way since they first opened their doors. I really enjoyed this offering and found it to be a very nice take on this style.

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, black
Smell: cream and burnt malt
Taste: sweet cream throughout, but especially at the end, sugar, and burnt malt
Mouthfeel: super smooth, sweet, no carbonation, medium light bodied for the style.
Drinkability: This is another beer they need to can. It is one of the tastiest sweet stouts I have had. The sweetness is present but not overpowering. I could session this.

After walking around and working up a bit of a sweat I plopped down and ordered a milk stout. Interesting choice, dummy.
Anyway, it was rather good. A flat black pour with a nice creaming head. Nothing thick, just looked attractive.
Roasted malt and slightly burnt caramel come in the nose. Weak aroma, but in a bar I can chalk that up to "other" smells in the air.
This beer is smooth. Slight coffee and cocoa taste, tad smokey. Dark fruits like plum and raisin. Slightly sweet, but very smooth. Dang. Did I say smooth?
