a well made but rather generic american ipa. pours golden honey colored with a lacey white head. smells like bitter citrus hops, notes of grapefruit peel are present, backed up by a biscuity sort of malt character. flavor is sticky fresh hops on the citrus end of the spectrum. this was definitely dry hopped aggressively. plenty bitter at the end. mouthfeel is pretty good, lighter body and medium carbonation. its very drinkable, although at wynkoop id suggest mixing it up a bit. overall a pretty nice ipa, but nothing particularly unique.

I had this on draft at the brewery.

Appearance: hazy golden yellow orange color. Somewhat foggy with signs of carbonation and some lacing too.

Smell: citrus and grapefruit up front, some nice bready and biscuity. Bitterness lingers around for a little bit.

Mouthfeel: Silky smooth, medium carbonation, medium bodied, a little chewy, and easy to drink.

Overall: we came here last year and happy to have some of their beers once again this afternoon.

A: single finger head. Nice retention. Tons of lace.

S: wet sock hop aroma which is pungent and malty.

T: nice hop character which is mostly pine oriented. Citrus in the finish.

M:medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: another good wynkoop brew with a complex hop content. If I lived nearby this would be my go-to beer while here.

Wynkoop Mile HIPA is a hazy golden ale with an off white head that fades to a dense, splotchy film that leaves a dense sheet of foam on the glass. The strong, resiny, pine aroma is very fresh. The smooth, medium body ends with a very dry, astringent finish. It's heroically bitter, like pine resin nectar. The bitter hop oils dominate the flavor from the start and persist long after the swallow. It's a little soapy and there's a hint of orange peel. This is an aggressively hopped American IPA. Only drink it when you're sure you don't need to taste anything else that day.

Had this one on tap yesterday at the Wynkoop Brewing Company downtown. Poured a medium golden color with a decent rocky white head. Aromas of citrus, pine and bread dough. On the palate, medium bodied and drinkable, with flavors of citrusy hops, pine and bread dough.

On draught at the brewpub, Mile HI.P.A is a clear brassy gold with a small off-white head leaving decent foamy lace.

Smell is fruity, mango, with some citrus hops, light bread. Smells like an English pale ale with the esters.

Taste is more assertively hoppy then the nose, with resinous pine flavor and a firm, lingering bitterness. Nice malt back bone with plenty of esters as well.

Mouthfeel is crisp, slick and dry, but with creamy carbonation and a medium light body.

Drinkability is good, tasty but could use more hop aroma and taste. Maybe not super fresh, but then again, I'm drinking it at the source...
