Pours a dark opaque brown with a very creamy Irish coffee foam head. The head retains well. A gorgeous beer to covet as it sits, untouched on a weathered oak bar. Creamy foam coats the glass. Iced mocha aroma. Mouthfeel is utterly phenomenal, but it's nitrogen infused, so it's a little like cheating. Baker's chocolate, coffee, and just the slightest hint of peat. Good oatmeal stout.

A friend who just got back from Napa Valley had visited the Downtown Joe's American Bar And Grill, and brought back some beers to try.
Served chilled, from a Growler into a Bruery tulip glass.
The beer poured a murky & hazy dark brown, with brown highlights that penetrate through when held to the light. Only got about an quarter of an inch of head on the pour, it seemed to have gone flat, sadly, even though it was only a few days old (I advised my friend to start bringing electrical tape on beer trips to better seal the twist off growlers)
The aroma's were still present, though a bit muted, whiffs of roasted malt, cocoa, molasses, and some dark brown sugar.
Taste follows the aroma's. Flavors of molasses and some smoke, hints of vanilla and marshmallow, then roasted malt, cappuccino, and a tinge of dry bitterness on the finish.
Mouthfeel was light and thin, due to the low carbonation, so it was lacking the smooth velvety body that you would expect from a Oatmeal Stout. I have been to Napa a few times, and hope to try this on draft when I do, to give this beer another fair shake, since I like the style.
Overall, an easy drinker, drinkable, but not complex, even despite the carbonation issue.
