Harpoon Bohemian Pilsner follows the age-old tradition of extended lagering to help produce a smooth yet complex beer. The blend of European malts is balanced with Tettnang and Saaz hops to create a slightly malty beer with a crisp finish.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle dated 11/21/22. Sampled Jan 19, 2023.
Golden, effervescent and heady pour. Streaming carbonation and very good clarity.
The aroma is barley grain, bread crust, apricot, and peach with a light grassy note. Light lemon too.
The mouthfeel is light and smooth. Crisp and clean.
Sweet barley with the same apple, apricot, and peach characters in the taste as in the aroma. Refreshing actually.

Two twelve ounce cans emptied into a clear glass liter mug produced a beer with the standard look of a Pilsner. The color is light yellow-amber with a moderate stark white head that appears enduring. It's quite translucent, again, standard. European malt and Pilsner hops give this the same aroma as most in the style. The malt is also normal, tasting just a little drier than some. Pilsner hops make this a little more bitter than most American Adjunct lagers, but it's not nearly as bitter as some of the best in this category. The head sustains, but there's virtually no glass lacing. Overall, this is an OK representation; not horrible, nor close to the very best. It drinks lightly and can go down quickly. Sometimes that's enough.

12oz bottle, Sam Adams glass, packaged 11/15/21.
Pale gold with a pillowy white head.
Sweet pale malt, light corniness, grassy, floral.
Pilsner malt with less sweetness than the nose. The hops present more spicy, peppery, and grassy than floral. The finish has a nice pop of bitterness and is dry.
Light body, medium carbonation, nice dry, almost abrasive finish.
Love to see all the lagers these days and this is a fine one.

Bottle from Shaw's
Brilliant dark straw in color with a thin bubbly bone white head that persists.
Bready crackery pilsner maltiness hint of sulfur. Light floral spicy hops and a hint of green apple. Pretty decent.
