Blonde Ale out of the bottle.

This blonde presented a nice light gold hue that would be expected from a blonde. Thin lacing that is sticky. Carbonation is very strong, which brings out the fruity aroma. If a fan of golden/blondes this is a good beer. Do not expect a hoppy, bitter after taste, but a rather smooth and light descent. If you are in the mood for this style its a good beer if in the area. I generally like blondes; moreso in the summer months, but this was a pleasing and easy drinking beer. Would not recommend those that appreciate a high hopped beer, but well represented for its class and style.

I've been impressed with Natty Greene's IPA and other beers, so I was intrigued to try this beer which is now included in their 12 pack sampler. We'll see... .

-Appearance 2: Imagine a pint glass filled with lemon kool-aid. Yep. Non-existent head quickly dissipated into a swirly, CO2-enhanced film. Lots of CO2 bubbles popping up all over the place.

-Smell 3: Pleasant bouquet. Nothing special. Lots of grainy, adjuncty scents. Not bad, but certainly not great.

-Taste 2.5: Front tastes of a watered down barley. Middle is where the CO2 bubbles attack your palate and it is difficult to taste anything. Finish is slightly barley/grain/adjunct. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. No hops, no nuances, no nothing.

-Mouthfeel 2: Just like water in your mouth. Nothing added from the carbonation other than little tickles on the tongue.

-Overall 2.5: This beer isn't as bad as it is just...bleargh. Just nothing. A true disappointment. I cannot believe this swill was produced by the same brewery that brewed Buckshot, Southern IPA, Brown Ale... . Sad, really. Natty Greene needs to pull this recipe, take it out to the back yard and set it on fire. If this beer is included in their sampler from now on, I will not be buying any further samplers from now on. Avoid.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium yellow in color with some moderate amounts of golden yellow and light to moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall white head that quickly reduces to to a small patch of extremely thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of cereal grain malts with some light honey and just a touch of herbal and earthy hops.

T: Moderate flavors of cereal grain malts with some light honey and a fair amount of sweetness. Very light amounts of herbal and earthy hops that contribute a light amount of bitterness that fades almost immediately.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation.

O: Super easy to drink and with this low an ABV, you could easily drink this one all day long - the definition of a session beer. Matches really well with just about any food.

Pour is gold with a small head. Light, but steady carbonation. Would look great if it had just a bit more head.

Smell is heavy on slightly roasted grains. Not really backed up by much, light earthy hops as well, but just a straight forward Blonde.

What it lacks in complexity and hops, it makes up for by being just solid all around. Carbonation is prickly, making the roasted grains really pop. Not overly sweet, but feels dry and grainy. Kind of reminds of how Great Lakes would do a Blonde (which is a huge compliment coming from me, but a bit less grainy)

This this is drinkable as all hell. Not too sweet, not too earthy, not too hoppy. Just a great, solid, all-around drinkable beer perfect for post work relaxation, post run rehydration, or nice stop in a bike ride!

Clear golden color with a white head that fades away about halfway through. Smells of ale yeast fruity touch of wheat and mostly pale malt. Taste about the same little hop up front but not much. Very easy to drink and at 3.8% you could problay drink a good bit of these not bad but problay won't buy again unless I'm just looking for a beer to drink a good bit with out feeling to buzzed.
