Intriguing aroma with a dark black pour and heavy lacing... GREAT balanced taste and lingering mouthfeel that keeps you craving more... the hops come through perfectly and make it a very easy drinker for 8.5% ABV. Cheers to Natty Greenes and Bestway!

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a dark, mahogany highlighted brown coloring with a filmy, dense, foamy, off-white head. Aromas of tangy cream, smoked and roasted coffee, and a subtle bitterness. Flavors are heavily roasted forward, with a slick, rich, mocha and molasses backbone, hints of smoke and char, some old world fruit highlights of raisin and date, and a bittersweet baker's chocolate and almond blend. Smooth, mid-bodied, with a roasted and bittersweet aftertaste. The finish is smooth and clean, with a subtle bitter linger. Hops characters really help to cut and clean all the roasted qualities. Tasty brew!

A: Pours a clear almost opaque very dark cola brown (almost black) in color with light to moderate amounts of active visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and some dark crimson red highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy foamy light tan head that slowly reduces to a medium sized thick patch of large bubbles surrounded by a very thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of dark roasted malts, coffee, dark fruits (fig), and caramel sweetness.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of darkly roasted malts with some lighter notes of coffee. There are moderate amounts of caramel sweetness initially that are then overtaken by the dark fruit (fig) flavors and a light amount of earthiness. Light to moderate amounts of dryness are present in the finish but fade pretty quickly.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Lightly creamy.

O: I did not detect any of the dry hops that were advertised on the bottle but I do not have a problem with that as this is quite an enjoyable beer as it is. The alcohol is mostly well hidden, just contributing a touch of sweetness to the brew.

Another beer for Roger over at Bestway,NC brewers love him.Pours into a 1/2 liter stein a deep dark chocolate brown with crimson hue,a nicely formed one finger tannish colored head atop.Dark coffee and fruit in the nose stand out most along with some caramel sweetness.Sweet caramel and molasses flavors up front over top of dark roast coffee with ore dark fruit and alcohol sweetness in the finish.A well made beer, don't get much of the dry hopping results but it's a warming soother.
