On tap at Secret Stash Bash; served in a small nonic.
A: The beer is a deep dark mahogany color, clear, with excellent, well-proportioned tan head that fades slowly.
The aroma has a very pronounced dark chocolate note, and more dark fruit than I recall being in the standard version. To some extent, the dark roasted malts were masked by the barrel aging.
T: The barrel aging is obvious, a little too obvious, in tasting. Thankfully, the medium and dark roasted malts do show through, and there are some appreciated dark fruit notes. Excellent finish and aftertaste. Lightly sweet.
M: Full bodied and very smooth, with excellent medium carbonation.
O: Rich and improved version of the very good Duck-Rabbit Baltic porter. Very satisfying.

Appearance: Arrives with the liquid colored a pretty dark brown with ruby highlights; the head was not overly large but it did leave the occasional strand behind
Smell: Dark fruit (prune, primarily) and Bourbon, with some chocolate underneath
Taste: The dark fruit flavors (prune and date) appear first, followed by the Bourbon barrel and chocolate flavors; after the swallow, the Bourbon lingers in the aftertaste, bringing with it some vanilla elements
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with low carbonation
Overall: Duck-Rabbit has a way with its limited edition beers and this one is no exception

On tap at ACBF 6/1/2013 Solid black color. Aroma of chocolate covered cherries with a hint of coconut. Outstanding chocolate fruity flavor with hints of vanilla and sweet smooth bourbon. Thick body with a creamy silky mouthfeel. Incredible beer. Smooth complex and tasty.
