Pours light copper. Smell of toasted grain, sweetness of toffee and fruit. Taste is good. Good mix of toasted malts and sweetness. Light hop presence, slight dryness in the finish. Definitely a drinkable beer. Comparable to standard versions in my book.

The pour is of a nice oft-amber color with lots of carbonation. Head dissipates quickly leaving very little lacing on the glass. Scents of a true marzen. Sweet, nutty, caramel malts glisten the taste but. Slight creamy sweet back with a nice crispy, haltertau hoppy wash. A very nice beer. The label made it hard for me to determine this was an Oktoberfest but I will look for it again, even though this is a left over fall batch, but still pretty fresh.

12oz. bottle poured into a tumbler glass.
A- a clear amber-orange with a half a finger of light tan head. A little lacing.
S- some toasty malts, but mainly lagery yeast aromas.
T- Clean. Straightforward toasted malts and light caramel flavor. A hint of fruitiness with the hops and yeast. Very clean lager bite on the finish.
M- Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, and appropriately kind of dry on the finish.
O- An excellent stab at the style, and actually reminds me more of some German offerings than most American breweries.

12oz bottle from sixer picked up at Tasty Beverage Co. In Raleigh. Poured into a pint glass -
A: copper; clear; light beige, half-finger head; slight retention, but no lace.
S: bread crust; husk; whole wheat; light sweetness.
T: caramel malt; sweet bread; doughy yeast; dry / earthy hops but not bitter at all; mostly.
M: medium mouthfeel; moderate to high carbonation; nice feel - great for style.
O: a good märzen - pretty traditional which is good; perhaps a bit too dark and sweet; could use some extra dryness on end, but good nonetheless.

A - dark amber with a soft, thin layer of off white head that fades quickly
S - caramel, lager-y, dark fruit
T - caramel, toasty, fruity, very faint roastiness, faintly hoppy
M - medium bodied, perfectly carbonated, very smooth
This is a nice, balanced, flavorful beer that has great drinkability. This is an Oktoberfest that I could drink a lot of. It's a great Oktoberfest seasonal offering.

Poured into a snifter.
A: Slightly hazy red-brown with one-finger, off-white, creamy head that lasted a couple of minutes and left a nice film. Nice lacing.
S: Malt and fruity, almost flowery aroma. Hard to explain, and I like it.
T: Light sweetness and light bitterness. Light fruit sweetness and a bit of spice character.
M: Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
O: Dry with spice and bread. Good Marzen.

A - Pours with one finger of lightly off white foam on top of a clear, dark copper colored body. The head settles slowly and leaves good lace.
S - A thick, malty aroma with notes of toasted grain, sweet caramel, and red apples.
T - Slightly sweet, dark bread up front with some caramel and toffee notes in the middle. Finishes with a touch of red apple, licorice, and toasted grain.
M - Medium body, moderately low carbonation, and a somewhat sweet finish.
D - This beer has a very promising aroma and it certainly looks good, but it doesn't quite manage to live up to the promise in the flavor. It is a bit undercarbonated and I find it too sweet in the finish without enough hops to balanced it out. Drinkable, but not up to the level of a good German fest beer.

A: single finger head on a a clear amber body with excellent lacing. As good as it gets just about.
S: aroma is a little light with toasted malts, hint of burnt toast and caramel.
T: this one is mostly sweet caramel and toasted malts with a hint of toffee finishing with spicey and earthy notes. As good as it tastes for me its about what isn't there and thats the sour, old beer taste that for me many in this style tend to have.
M: medium body and moderate carbonation. Very smooth.
Overall: for the style this one is excellent, definitely one of my favorites.

Poured from the bottle into a nonic pint glass. Been looking for this when the time is right, finally got the last of the main Duck Rabbit beers (except for those real obscure one offs it seems!).
An almost ruby amber body color, but with lots of cola like bubbles stuck to the sides of the glass. Head forms maybe two fingers, light white and tan in color, lots of swiss cheese appearances and not much retention at all.
Nose is real interesting. Toasty caramel, but also a sweet almost turkish red delight or something. Very unique. Good hop presence, along with some almost bark tree woody sense or something, like dry leafy tobacco even.
Really good creamy feel on this beer, but a bit flat on the palate, oh so close to 4.5 rating. Coating toffee and caramel with a real good spicy finish. Strangely hardly any sense of carbonation at all. Spicy character akins to brown toasty clove and nutmeg
At first taste the beer seems alright, but strangely the spice character really starts to shine as it warms up making it even better. Quite an enjoyable Marzen, more hits for the duck!
